Everytime i have bought from mustangs unlimited they have given me the wrong parts.
first it was the waterpump which they assured would fit. it didnt. Next they gave us a 2.00" h pipe instead of 2.25. The radiator shroud brackets i got from them dont fit right. today i got a grommet for my pcv valve which is the wrong size. (they said it was what i needed.)
I am getting fed up with this because everytime i want to work on my mustang they give me the wrong parts.

I've had some bad experiences from them as well. I won't buy from them anymore.

So I am not the only one to get junk from Mustangs Unlimited. In the past five years I have bought thousands of dollars of parts for my '65 fastback and have gotten quality items from NPD, Mustangs Plus, Virginia Classic Mustang and others. But I have gotten numerous items from Mustangs Unlimited that either didn't work, didn't fit, or were just plain crap. Unforetunately some of the items I bought well in advance of using them (like a new alternator and rear leaf springs) that by the time I got around to installing them and finding out either it didn't work (the alternator) or didn' fit right (the stock rear leafs) that it was too late to return. They did take back a piece of junk radiator they sold me though. As soon as I took it out of the box I could see it was junk, took it back. Sadly, I too love within easy driving distance from the Lawrenceville, GA store and they would be convenient -BUT NO MORE PARTS FROM MUSTANGS UNLIMITED FOR ME

I am thinking about burning a copy of all the replies to this message and sending it to them. Let's get the word out!

Let's see...you've ordered four times and got the wrong part four times.....I would have stopped ordering from them after the first time.

I know if I owned the joint I'd want to know what my employees were doing wrong. Maybe some heads would roll if you took these complaints wew taken to the owner.

I've had some good luck and some bad luck....it seems like I have better luck getting what I need from a junkyard down the road.

Is it the employees not giving good service, or the quality of the products/parts? What I hear, is that the company has inferior parts. I had always thought that all the Mustang restoration parts companies get their replacement parts from the same source. Which, is ultimately from China. That is called outsourcing folks, and if you buy into that scheme, then you are supporting the outsourcing productivity for products to be put on your American built Ford Mustang Automobile. But, what other choice do you have? You have real Ford OEM and NOS parts, but most of us are too cheap to buy those quality parts. Yes, not all parts are available with quality parts, so other than finding them in junk yards, we are stuck with the Chinese parts. On a side note, try rebuilding a 1957 Chevy with parts available.

Glen, they dont have good service either. They tell that the part will fit and it doesnt. When i had the wrong water pump my dad got a refund when we had already painted it and put the gasket on. I guess if you EXACTLY what you need then they wouldnt be bad, but dont expect any help from them.

Then, it's a sevice issue, and not a quality of parts issue per se? OK

I don't bet some have gotten the wrong parts, its happen to me as well.. I think some of it may bear on the person doing the ordering. One thing I have learned over the many years of being in this hobby is never take what the distributor tells you as the truth. I always investigate what I need prior to ordering it so I know what I'm ordering is what I need. I think that’s more than half the battle..

I only had one bad experience, it was partly my fault though. Then they sent me a free pipe and a free flowmaster without there knowing about it, so i got like $90 in free parts.

absolutely slick. The guy on the other end of the phone is just taking information as to what you are telling him to order. However, I have found that many better suppliers ask a bunch of more questions of the purchaser before making the final order to be fact. If it is a quality of parts that are finally shipped, then I can understand a bitch here. But, if it is just a matter of communication, then that is another matter.
