as some of you here might now by now, i'm the one who bought a 97 cobra with 90k miles in it for $9,995.00 dollars, with tax and stuff, it was like +10,000.00

I know i got ripped off, i just want you guys to tell me how bad i got.

bought it like a month and a week ago, can i still pursue the dealer to lower the price down a bit

i'm really happy with it, just wished i had dome some shopping around first.

Thanks and GOD Bless!!!

you really didnt get ripped that bad man.. Suggested retail price in my zip code for a 97 with those miles with no extra options selected except rear spoiler is 10,185.

If its in great condition you may have honestly overpaid by 1500 or so. You cant include tax, registration, etc in your vehicle price because that differs per state. You paid 10k, if you could have gotten it for 8500 it would have been a really good deal. You didnt get jobbed at all, you ended up paying less then book for a car you love.. I dont see that as a screw job in the least.

well, the car isn't in a 100% perfect condition, i mean, engine and all that is mechanical is good. Paint is the only bad thing, its peeling off. any how, that cheers me up alot, GOD Bless you man, you've made my day, i was feeling so freaking bad about that car.

Looks like you got it under book value.

Sounds like they hosed you with the paint, but as long as it's mechanically sound, no big deal. Save up a couple bucks and get it painted shortly.

So this question is along the same lines. I paid the equivelant of 13k US for my 96 cobra conv. with 80,000 miles (black paint, tan top and interior all in good condition) and a clutch that they had installed the week b4. Would this be a good, bad, or fair price for the car?

sorry, no naked girls. Like yellow said, just to get ya'lls attention. Thanks fot the replies though, really funny.

to bcstrong: all this cobras seem to retain their value pretty good, not a 100% sure but it think that what you paid is alright, verts cost more than coupes and for the miles it has it isn't that bad. Just as long as the paint isn't peeling of like mine.

GOD Bless all!!!

I payed 14000 for my 98 cobra with 52,000 miles on it, in great shape, now after 20,000 dolars later, I should get it back from the speed shop on feb 15 to share with yall, if you mechanics are good you price was not bad

Well... I was looking for cool pics too... very sneaky...

I paid 15K for my Cobra in 2003 with 80K on it. Honestly... ask yourself this: Is it fun to drive? Is it worth the money I just spent? I had the same buyers remorse when I bought mine, thinking I got ripped off, but unless you got the car for 15K with a 25% loan, I don't think you got ripped off. I supercharged mine after owning it for 5K miles, then blew the engine up 10K miles later. Now it is in the shop for a rebuild (my shop!!). Here's what happens to a hypereuretic piston under 10PSI boost and a little bit of detonation, but man was the trip to the self destruction worth it! Nothing like going out in flames!
