Well I was going to try and keep my comments constructive but it seems like we're going at it again. Miller, I don't understand the whole situation either.
$22,773 - 05 Mustang V6 Prem
+ $375 - GT foglight grill
+ $949 - GT Bumpers
+ $655 - Dual Exhaust
+ $3,300 - Vortech SC
= $28,052 - Price of the GT
If you have only done a few of these mods, you are well on your way!
Where did you get this ET you V6's are talking about. These numbers are real: GT = 13.6 / V6 = 15.4. 1.8 seconds is an accomplishment in 1/4 (about 6 car lengths). That's an increase of about 60-70whp. I guess my point is: you'll spend the extra $5,000 to make your V6 as fast as the GT (w/out sprayin').
I really don't care about the performance spectrum of the 05 Mustang. It's the visual area that gets me going.
I just don't understand this. GT bumpers - fine with me. Dual exhaust - ok. GT grill w/ foglights - crossing the line. Someone please explain it to me.

It all depends on where you live. For my area, the markup on GT's is killer, it is what it is. And for my bumpers, fogs, wheels and tires....I paid 1K so I am not sure where you are getting your numbers. Let these guys customize thier cars how they see fit and just let it go. You got a great car and so do they! They are stangs.

And I can't help it, but even the GT guys told you to stop bashing the 6 banger stangs:

http://www.mustangforums.com/m_950798/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#977459

And I can't help it, but with a GT at 17, who paid for your car? Enough said, now I am done.

Depends on your numbers and what someone is trying to do... for your example, the person you list is paying a pretty penny for the GT stuff...

$20,000 Used '05 V6
+ 400 Used GT takeoffs from friend (Front bumper, side skirts, grill, lights, harness, Mufflers)
+ 250 Paint and install
+ Not into S/C yet :)
= $20,650 - $7402 less than a GT

Of course I am not making a GT clone, I just like the fogs, bumper and most of all the side skirts, muffs I'm not caring about, but if they come with the package, then we will see...

And as I said earlier, (although this post was much better thought out and should be responded to in a positive way) It depends on the person and their opinion of what they want, why should you care about what someone else does? Everyone has a way of doing something. One of the problems I myself used to have when I was younger, was that if I saw a better or easier way to do something, I would try to help the person doing it, do it easier or better --- THEN, much to my surprise, I was informed that the other person (in whichever senario) did not want the assistance they wanted to do it THEIR way!! It took me a while to understand that that person has that right... easier, better, GT, V6, whatever... even if I think it is the WRONG way to my thinking... I was not them, and in the end it really did not affect me which way they did it. Even if I felt uncomfortable with what they were doing, turns out it was MY problem not theirs. With me it used to be MAC -vs- PC old school computers lol he he ok /soapbox

Scared your GT gone lose value or sumthing? Be happy you got one and stop flamin on v6s. Did you go all the way to the dealership to ask for those numbers, just to put us down? For a 1000 sumone can get a clone your car and for 2000 more, get the engine. Stop acting high/mighty and take it upon yourself to draw the line to what sumone can do with their car bud. Having a gt does not make you lord of all v6's.

Hey im 18, I can call u kid. Kid. I bought my own v6 and proud of it.

rygen you may want to requote i didnt like the layout.

Look boy (gt05) I am tired of some kid telling me what I can and can’t do. Deal with it the car has been moded sine the firs one come off the line in the 60's we will do what looks good. To us, hey I have seen some cars that suck IMO but hey we all have different tastes that what makes the USA great your kind has forgotten what price many have paid before you, so that you could even drive a stang. If everyone bitched and whined like you years ago, all we would be driving today would be VW' and Datsun's. Move on!

To all the GT owners out there who are reading this and are upset. There is ALWAYS going to be someone better than you. The ROUSH guys dont piss and moan because GT owners modify their cars to be faster or better looking. The SALEEN guys dont piss and moan cuz the ROUSH or GT or V6 guys, or anyone for that matter, hop up their cars to try to "compete". So what makes you so upset that a V6 owner would try to even slightly emulate (copy) another mustang that isnt even top of the line? I dont get it. Grow up, get over it, you didnt build the car yourself and neither did we.

will
