I read this forum slash arguement and laughed. I can see where people might be a bit irritated at the guys who deck their V6s out with obviously GT equipment and try to "fool" other people, but honestly, who cares that much anyway? Its not like all 750,000 GT owners in the US individually hand crafted the car on their own. Basically what i mean is i can understand taking pride in your car and in having a GT, but if you didnt build it anyway, why does it matter to anyone if the car is "mis-represented" with body styling?

You dont see the ROUSH owners pissin about GT guys slappin louvers on the windows and hood scoops and etc. do you? Im not taking anyone's side here, but Im just sayin that people shouldnt be upset or offended when someone tries to "copy" a car that is distributed world wide anyway.

Sorry if i offended anyone, but like i said......

Why do people keep saying owners of V6's who add duals or lights or fenders are trying to fool. Has it ever occured to thes accusers maybe they do it cause they like the look, it's not like they're sticking GT badges on. Now people who do that are trying to fool others into thinking they own a GT. I just bought some GT rockers to put on my V6, that doesn't mean I want people to think I own a GT, I just like the way they look.

Oviously you people are much less laid back then the 4.6 liter forum. I just read your grips on how people always ask why you did not get a gt. seriously why do you care. I'm laughing at how bent you all get by a simple comment of car body parts. If you think my comment was being an "ass" you need to get out more. Anyway. I'm a Ford guy and am glad you all have fords so let it go already.

It is fairly laid back here most of the time, but then some troll shows up.

Seriously cool off. Read my original post. My point was to make Ford owners think twice before throwing all kinds of tags on their car like many of the civic owners do such as fake exhaust, supercharger symbols, NOS symbols and the like when they don't have them in their cars. It saddens my to see Mustangs all "riced out" as some people put it. By the way, in other 4.0 posts I've read your posts about people driving GTs are wasting their money for that one or two seconds in the quarter mile stuff is offensive to me but I didn't chime in and call you all asses for it. Grow up.

I think you make some good points, and you are definitely not here to bash so thank you . The V6 group here is a good group, I think some of the threads you read just got out of control from one particular GT owner stirring up the pot. If it's a stang, its a good investment, thats what I think.

Ya know if you think about it, the number of GT's that are getting body kits, and all (leaving the high number of take-offs for us V6's) a V6 with GT takeoffs are not going to look like a 'new' GT anyway he he

And wouldn't the original '65-'67 crowd have dibs on calling all of us posers lol

Actualy, I was at my mechanics shop today (Excessive) and the Saleen rep was there. He was pushing two things:

1. Saleen superchargers
2. GT take off bumpers, tires, etc.

He said they did all these conversions and need to get rid of the stuff. I got my running pony's and my 4.0 emblem on the back, actually looks really good. I will be taking pics of it along with my new legend spoiler tomorrow in the sun light.

Geeze you guys post fast. haha. i agree with "do what looks good". I have a 06 V6, pony package, 5% tint, window scoops, soon to be body kit, and i love how it looks. now im working on the performance aspect. I'm GONNA go with the dual exhaust, and im probably GONNA put a GT bumper on, if not a body kit one, and its GONNA look finominal and sound great and be boosted in HP!!! haha

and check my last post if u didnt read it.....it cracks me up..... anyway. Do what looks good.

Rygen, go back to the origianl posts:

was just wondering if I order the Gt Body kit through Casco do I need any thing else or just the bumpers and the side skirts and the Gt lights, by the way does the Gt fog lights come with the wiring harness and switch just wondering

Just wondering but why make your car look like something it is not. Why not just buy a GT. I have seen guys put a fake tailpipe sticking out the back to make their cars look like they had dual exhaust. I was wondering who they were tring to impress. Oviously not anyone who knew anything about cars. And I don't think most women know the difference.

Justin was asking about getting a GT body kit from Casco, not sticking GT or any other badges on his car. If you were to follow this line of thinking to its logical conclusion, any exterior modification to any vehicle could be considered "making it look like something it's not". The GT take off body kits are probably the cheapest body modifications you can make, not to mention, form Casco, you can get them already painted. This whole question really comes down to personal tastes, and what you, Millergt or I think is really meaningless to the next guy in line who may like the GT body kit, or the Saleen kit, or the Roush kit, or... I would agree, hanging a badge on a vehicle which are misleading (i.e. Cobra, Supercharged, etc. when you are not a Cobra or running a blower) is not something I personally find appealing, but that is not what Justin was asking about. If that is what Millergt was trying to get across, then my apologies, but from reading your original post, that is not what it sounds like you were saying.

That's not fair, if you own the car, you should be able to do what you want with it. Some of use chose the V6 for cost reasons. It does getter much better mileage, plus your not paying the insurance surcharge for the GT. Pesonally, there are a few things about the GT that I like. If they want to convert it, then by all means convert away.

That's fine... but that is not always the case... I agree with everyone should do what they want... but i'm also free to express my opinion... LOL!

From "The Things I Can't Stand" Department...

1) Dealerships who take a V6 and put ever GT part on it except the badges and then park them out front just to get people to stop. They are not doing it because they like the looks of the GT over the V6... they are doing it to fool people into stopping.. Don't like that... not one bit... LOL

2) There are people who WILL dress up there V6 to fool people... I'm talking about the minority here... you know who you are.. LOL! Example...there's a guy around here that does the car show scene... complete Roush body kit... but NEVER opens his hood because it's a V6.. Don't like that... not one bit... LOL

3) What I consider "improper badging"... Like that guy in Modified Mustang... sticking Corbra emblems on his car... Do I think Corbra emblems are cool? Yes! But do they belong on my V6 (which would had than guy his A$$, BTW) absolutely NOT! Don't like it... not one bit! LOL

So like I said dress your car anyway you like... I know I do... but just don't except me to like it or agree with it! LOL!

If I remember correctly the GT bumpers are not a simple bolt-on... some minor modification maybe needed... not 100% sure here... perhaps someone whose done it can chime in here...

To each his or her own. I went street scene grill in the front, so no front replacement. cut my own arch in rear for duals, so no rear replacement. And I like the black rockers due to my color setup. the gt stuff adds a 2" or so lip so if you replace the rear or the front you should do both ends so they match, wait here comes the pc part IMOA, wow almost forgot that one LOL. Anyway the rear cut out was actually pretty easy. Although I am thinking about putting the street scene rear on, they have the cut out ready for duals if you want it. But hey we all have our own wants. Got my new rear tires on and my drilled and slotted rotors heck where does it all end. As an old owl once said " the world my never know!" so was that dating myself or what? And to the trolls that continually try to break our spirits. Try as you may but we saved enough money that we can hold out forever. While most of your cars stay stock. Have fun and good luck!

They are bolt on for the most part, new wheel wells are optional, I bought them for mine and of course you should get all new screws and plactic bolts, you will break them when you take them off. Looking back, hind sight 20/20 I have to say one thing. Dual exhaust I think looks cooler on the stock V6 bumper, reason being is the stock bumper curves in more, and if you have nice chrome pipes like I do, you can see more of them with the V6 bumper. Oh well, still love my fogs and 17 inch bullits.
