HOW TO: V6 Pony Pkg Emblem Placement

rygenstormlocke -> HOW TO: V6 Pony Pkg Emblem Placement (1/25/2006 9:31:38 PM)

I was wondering if any of you had this information handy. I just recently bought some 66 running pony emblems for my fenders and need to put them on.

So, does anyone know the exact placement for the pony emblems on the 06 V6 pony package?

Thanks.

EDIT: Changed title to become a sticky.

Rygn

Drivers side very top of my emblem "4- 3/4 from the mid crease of the front fender, tail of the pony "3-1/2 from the front fender jam that meets the front door drivers side.

I appreciate the info as well, I am ordering some pony emblems to put on my stang too. I wanna put the badges on the sides to make sure people don't confuse me with a GT due to my dual exhaust.

I think some old time pony elblems are one thing that's missing on these rides... I may put some on eventually... but I'm not sure how it'll look with the Mustang stripe.

I think it will look good, I have the same 05 stripe on mine. The emblems will also be a little bling to go with those nice chrome rims.

I put them on my car and they look great. I first when to a local Ford dealership and measured the placement of the emblem on one of their new Pony Package models. That was my guide.

I picked up a couple of these emblems and I am going to pop them on today.

One question: Is it safe to use isopropyl alcohol to clean the fender spots first?

I assume it is, but would like confirmation before touching my paint.

Thanks.

Interesting how Ford listened and put them on the '07s. [;)]

Hey guys went to pick some up today at my local dealership but when I looked at them they had 2 screws built right into the middle of the tri bars and my fenders aren't drilled..... The guy said to use vertical cutters or wire cutters to make it flush but I was alittle nerivous about it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? If so what did you do? Also can you can buy them without the screws and just the adhesive.

Thanks , Zack

You got the 00-04 emblems. You need the bigger 05-08 pony emblems.
Search eBay for the part #s you need.

landon.moss -> RE: V6 Pony Package Emblem Placement (1/19/2008 12:37:46 PM)

you can definitely cut off the studs....that's how i got my 99-04 type pony to go onto my grille......this is a lil later on in this thread and kind of old, but i like the smaller ones as well...not a fan of BIG emblems

mpatilla -> RE: V6 Pony Package Emblem Placement (1/19/2008 1:44:05 PM)

Thanks for posting info about this. Especially thanks to cinque35 for posting the illustration. You inspired me to go ahead and buy my emblems online and do the install myself. Can't wait!!!

Just a thought - I have a black V6 convertible with the pony emblems.  The first thing that I did when I brought her home was to paint the red, white and blue stripes with black touch up paint to match the body.  What a difference!  People are constantly asking me if mine is a "special edition' Stang because of that 20 minute job.

Rick
