Default 2006 GT Performance Mods Need Opinions With This List.....

Hello everyone, I am really anxious on getting my new GT here in a week or two! I am doing research on aftermarket modifications to help the pony run, I am using brenspeed.com because the customer service seems 2nd to none (I e-mailed a question and left my phone number just incase and he called me back personally and took about 20 mins to answer the question in full detail), so back to the subject at hand, I was thinking about the following mods for the new GT, and since tax returns are coming soon most of these mods should be within budget, so here's the list in order of preferance please feel free to post your opinion for they are welcomed and considered:

1st: C&L AIR INTAKE WITH SCT X-CAL 2 2005/06 GT $675.00

2nd: Steeda Mustang GT Pulleys $249.95

3rd: MAC 1 3/4" Direct Fit Shorty Headers $379.53

4th: Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter w/ Bushings $289.95

5th: Steeda Adjustable Panhard Bar $159.99

6th: Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs 2005 Mustang GT $249.95

7th: Power Slot Rotors (Front/Rear Kit) Mustang GT $389.95

Total: $2394.32 + Shipping

And I think that should do it, I didn't add any mufflers because I already have the Cervinis side exhaust, so I don't need them. Well any thoughts on these mods? Thanks again!!!

what will the long tubes do for me over the shorty's? also can I keep my cats withthe long tubes, and as far as shocks go are koni's good? i know they are a real nice shock in the euro scene, but i'm not sure with these being a different type of beast!

long tubes will give you much more horse power, i think the jba setup with high flow cats gained 20 on an auto. Some come with cats and without. i dont know much about shocks other then the factory ones dont hold up too good lowering the car. i hear tokicos are good, thats what im gonna go with. there adjustable

yeah... I have some thoughts

First brenspeed is great. That's who I use

sell the cervinis side exhaust if this is a Daily Driver. Your putting that on with a drop. So I'm guessing you're looking at 2.5" clearance from the ground.

I like the longtube idea myself as well. The shorty headers won't do much over stock for the price. Mainly they would be good for heat, if you had a S/C.

If you want to save a little cash, try the saleen short shift adapter before you buy the shifter, it's only $30 from Saleen and use the extra to buy the water pump from Brenspeed they have on sale right now for $305 I think. Good combo with the UD pullies.

I don't see a need for the rotors right now unless you're just going for looks.

But again, it's your money and your car.... enjoy it

Be sure you fully tune (ie: make sure it's working properly) and maximize each mod before the next one. A lot of guys will toss a pile of mods at a car and wonder why it's not as fast as it should be.

Thanks for the input, but about the side exhaust, luckily for my in live in south florida where having 1 inch on ground clearance is plenty, and i would take your advice on it but i already had the dealer do it and it ran me 2400 for the exhaust and kit, with long tube headers what about sound will they keep that low american rumble, or pitch it up to more of a nascar scream? I will def. look into the saleen shorty throw, do you know how much shorter the throw is? and the rotors, yup just for looks! well that and i hear the rear stockers get kinda hot on the new stangs so the slots will prevent glazing of the pads! oh and scott thanks for the tip on tuning before every mod, i'll do that its a really good point that i didn't even give a thought! keep those thoughts coming guys, i'm still learning!

what about hooker lt's abd the hooker x-pipe with the side exhaust? also I am not sure that I want to tear into too much, will it void my whole warranty or justthat part? example: electric water pump, will it just void the warr. on the pump or will it void the warr. on the entire cooling system? thanks again!
