I agree with making your V6 faster, but when I see or hear someone talking about getting the grill and foglights from a V8, that's crossing the line. I'd rather be supprised by a V6 (obvious appearance) with a turbo, than see a "V8" (really a 6) and get let down. IMO, it gives the GT's a bad name.

ok, i assume that you are new here and all, but generally we dont really do bashing on the 6ers in the 6ER SECTION so if you want to talk crap about us, please keep in in the gt section, because pretty much, i (and probably the rest of us, along with most 8ers) just dont want to hear it

and what is this about giving the "gt's a bad name"? in normal street driving how is anybody going to tell what size engine is in your car? i dont have gt fogs installed, and hell, lots of people come up to me and ask "do you have the 6 or 8 in there?" ...you know why? because most people have no clue what the foggs or duals mean

so please, keep your **** to yourself, because nobody cares for it

and no, if you are thinking this, i am not jealous of your gt, if i wanted one i would have it parked in my drive way by now

I would agree that most people have no idea how to tell the difference between my 6 and a GT by their outwards appearance.. I attend a lot of car shows... You would not believe the number of people who just assumed I had a V8.. I would say it had to be close to 80% or maybe even 90%... was really amazing... of course the reaction I would get when I informed them it was a V6 varied greatly... most were positive but there were quite a few people who immediately told me my car wasn't a real mustang since it was only a 6... I mean I could be talking to someone for a good 5 or 10 minutes about my car and they would be all ears... then I would say "No, it's a V6" and they would run away like I had the plague!! wait until they see me now... hehehehe... (There were only 2 shows left after I put in the Zex... amazing how that changed peoples attitudes... )

What I cannot stand is the "posers"... if you like fog lights fine... (personally i don't)... but there are a number of people who will try to pass there V6 off as a GT... I would see them at the car shows... all dressed up on the outside.. but refused to open their hoods! LOL! I know one older V6... complete Rouch body kit... side exhausts... the whole 9 yards... but never opens his hood... dones want it to be completely obvious it's a V6...

The dealerships in the Detroit area were doing the same thing... you'ld see a big like of GT's out front... only thing missng was the fender emblem... hmmmmm... V6's dressed up as GTs in order to get you to stop in and look...

There was a modded V6 in a recent publication... looked very nice... but had friggin' Cobra emblems on the fender!

I say dress your car up any way you want... it's your car... I've personalized my car the way I've wanted with no regards to what others think... but it does bug me when I see people who have obviously made their car to look as much lik a GT as possible... If your going to customize your car, make it unique! LOL!

I have the issue of Modified Mustangs that you referred to. I thought the car looked great till I saw the cobra fender emblems and GT trunk emblems as well. Does anyone know where I can get the pony emblems that don't have the pins. I really don't want to drill through my fender and I didn't care for the autobadges 4.0 emblems when I had them on my car.

I really see no need to bash the V6 Mustang, it is a superb automobile. I was torn between the GT and the V6 and in the end, I ordered the GT only because I will only mildly mod it (at least through the warranty). I have so many modification plans for my garage queen, my Corvette. Most of my spare cash and time will go into modding it. My Mustang will serve as my daily driver. I am a car lover and I particularly love Mustangs (This will be fourth).

Those people that bash the V6 are immature, insecure, shallow people that have to step on others in order to make themselves feel better. I actually find it quite amusing.

I guess the best thing to do is try to refrain from "feeding the trolls".

By the way, I spend as much time in the V6 forum as I do the GT forum. You guys are doing some really cool things to your cars and I simply enjoy reading and watching your successes with your cars.

Keep it up!

You could always get the ones with the pins and just cut them off with a dremel tool or something. I think there are a few people on the boards that have done that.

I just found a shop 5 min ago that has them without the pins. Ordered! Thanks.

I really dug the look of the car, but for performance they did a CAI, SCT XCAL2 and Magnaflow Y pipe Dual kit. That was all. I mean, thats a quick 6, but the cobra fender emblems was tooooo much. I felt it gave the 6 a bad rep.

autobadges.com, but I tore mine off after I put them on. They looked cheap in my opinion. I actually got these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-Mustang-Fender-Emblems-Pr-Horse-65-66-Stick-On_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33643QQitemZ8004924435

I should get them this week.

@Scrming,

I got my last running pony emblems from the shop you reccomended, they came with the pins. Because I didn't want to drill or deal with cutting the pins off and finding a way to stick them on, my son took them and made a Mustang display out of them. Turned out pretty cool.

So wait...he wouldnt drive a v6 over the GT because it has a smaller engine...but he would drive a wrx which has an even smaller engine than both? ANYWAY, i have to agree with scrming about the posers... I want people to know they just got beat by a v6!

Crossing what line? Your personal line of acceptability? Hell, I'm more than happy to step over your line. And on it. And kick it all over the place I don't give a rip about what you think. I knew the day I drove my vert off the lot that I would be putting the GT grille in it, I never did like the plain grille of the V6. Some people like it better than the GT grille, so it's really personal preference. I thought the GT grille was awesome, and the 6 grille boring, so I did something about it. But hey, if someone wants to put GT emblems, fascia & grille on their 6, more power to them. It's their car, who am I to judge what they do to it? I've seen some GTs with giant wings on the back and lambo doors that made me want to hurl, but I bite my lip. If they're happy with it then I'm not going to bring them down.

C'mon Tres, don't sugar coat it! Tell us how you really feel, hehehehehe

I tend to agree with what you said. We often forget that when someone mods their car it is their money, their preference, their car.

But it all boils down to personal opinion. I really don't like fake badges, ie Cobra badges on non Cobra's etc. Again, it is just conjecture.

I will agree with this GT on well nothing, fog lights are fog lights i dont see how it makes it your's or the GT's in that matter. I could see your point if someone took all the gt body parts and slapped some GT emblems on it....Actually I would probably make fun of them for doing that cause it would be completely stupid to have a v6 through emblems from a GT on their vehicle. I strongly feel the same way about saleens. I believe a saleen is unique and should not be copied in no way....well actually I loved what someone did with the exhaust in the forum. This is why there are aftermarket body kits like xenon and streetscene but people still seem to want to pretend they have a saleen(i feel just mean right now) If you somebody who is thinking about this and reading my post right now well if your butthurt then i guess ill send ya some tissues.

I am still in search of the perfect emblems, looking for some retro running horse emblems.

IDK if these are what you're looking for, but i got mine here, great quality...i had the 4.0's on the side and also took them off, just didn't flow with the car IMO. I put one on the grille, till it falls off anyway, lol :)

Now that he has been exposed , he doesnt even have the guts to post back . IF i want them to know its a 6 i just roll down the window and tell em , after i beat their asses. And if i lose , still roll down the window and tell em its an auto 6 , should see the look on some faces thinking that they just beat a v8, jeje. In my opinion you give the GTs a bad name by being such an ^%#$^%, lol.

??...people have been modding out, tricking out, pimping out their rides since the model 'A lol.. 4 bangers, 6'ers, 8's, hell even VW's lol. It's a matter of self expression and people do it because they enjoy it, not to mention it's extremely addictive. Don't even sweat that dude. I haven't even done any performance mods to mine, a K&N drop-in thats it, and that was really for the 2 to 3 mpg better I'm getting with it. People do tend to snub they're noses when you say its a 6, but thats kind of funny to me. My hot rodding days are behind me, and i think when some of the bashers start paying their own insurance (car payment too probably) they won't be so quick to bash.

now... who was looking for emblems? I surfed into california mustang or one of those sites that sales all the vintage mustang parts looking for the same thing, i want the "f o r d" for my hood and "m u s t a n g" for the trunk, but anyway, their emblems are now sticky backed instead of the old type that used the "tabs". look around, shouldn't be too hard to find.

I also wanted to mention my first car, which was a 67 coupe 289 3 speed. I put used Keystone Classics (rims) on it and used to get ragged on because they weren't Craigers. They were cool to me though, They were 14's too lol, but that was the stock size back in the day. Had traction bars too, remember those! I'll post a pic of it one day, it weren't real purdy, but it would fly!
