i change the gears in my 94 5.0 from 3.08 to 3.73 and now im getting a vibration at 110 km. some people where saying to spin the drive shaft, how much should i spin it and what direction. thanks
humm im a lil lost here, someone fill me in, why would you rotate the drive shaft? i took mine off when i put gears in and i never thought about puttin it back right or not i thought you would just bolt it up. thanks
Also when you took the drie shaft out, and set it on the ground it might of been banged up and a U joint might lost a bearing.
Just a theary, plus its always good to replace the ujoints when replacing gear. Its only 10 buck for one and only take 30 Minutes for a rookie to do it. I might be time to do it.

yeah i have a slight vibration maby ill try that. should i pull the drive shaft out of the trans?
dont pull it out of the tranny just pop it off the rear end and turn it while its in the tranny. Also a slight vibration might be that your front end needs to be realigned
so im kind of confused...how do you spin it 90 degrees? it can only bolt to the rear end in two different places, and they are 180 degrees apart. Im asking this because I am having the same problem after my gear swap. It was vibrating really bad so i had the drivline balanced and he said it was way out of balance, put it back on and its better, but still vibrates pretty bad. I also had all the tires balanced, and its been aligned recently
Depending on what size og gears you have, you will have some vibration at high speed. That is the reason why gears like 4.10 and above are not recommended for long range high speed driving. The reason for that is that the higher the number the closer the teeth on the gears. If you are feeling a humming noise with slight vibration comming from your shift knob then it is the gears. At speeds over a 100 mph it is ok. If there is a shake then it is the driveshaft. If the humming is loud with a lot of vibration then your gears might have been installed incorrect. Spacing is very important.
