Now that I have dual exhaust, I don't want to misrepresent GT's on the road. I want people to know I have a V6, and I'm not trying to fake a GT. Should I use these 4.0 emblems or not?
I already put one on and I'm unsure about it. Your guys' input means a lot to me, so if I get enough "" I'll take it off in a heart beat.
I don't have dual exhaust yet, but I have been thinking the same thing... I don't know if the 4.0 emblems is the way I will go, I am thinking about a hood scoop, so I am thinking about the '4.0L V6' lettering on the scoop.
try a little lower maybe (sort of in the middle top to bottom between the top of the 'c' and the hood line)... like:

That sounds like a good idea. If/when you do it, don't hesitate to post pictures!
How about the placement of the emblem? Would you move it up down left or right?
The sucker is stuck there pretty good, how would one move it without scratching my paint?
use a hair dryer or heat gun... same way I took off the body side moldings I had on mine... what you might do is make a cutout of white paper of the 4.0 and use scotch tape to look at it on the car to where you want the placement... then when you get close you can do the real thing... of course this is my opinion someone else may like where you have it now

Yeah, the girlfriend likes it where it is right now. The GT's have their emblem too low for my taste. I'd like to move it to the right a little and down.
Thanks for the tip. I actually used the scotch tape trick (you can see it on the ground next to my tire... kinda) but the tape distracted me too much, but it was still great for taking measurements.

i think it looks good since you got that mustang stripe along the bottom. i would also agree that the 4.0 needs to come down lower. ALSO, i totally agree and respect you for not trying to misrepresent the GT's. i started a discussion a month or so ago on this very subject. i actually focused more on the GT fog lights and GT rear bumper covers on the V6s and how they dont belong on the V6. was a good discussion/debate but i've become more open and accepting to the GT look on the V6 (just wont do it to my car). the only thing i would do to my car that is from a GT is throw on some polished aluminum bullit GT 18' wheels. BUT then again, the pony package already sports bullit wheels on the V6 (except that they are 17s, not 18s) so i guess i wouldnt be doing anything different than ford itself is already doing (except for my dual exhaust but that is for performance/sound/looks and at least i kept the V6 bumper on ).

I'll drop it a half an inch or so and move it toward the the wheel a little bit. I just have to pull it into the garage to get access to an outlet for my hairdryer (parents park in the garage...)
Thanks again for your input fellas. Sincerely appreciate it.
I think the "4.0" looks good but would go with others and suggest a lower location, I'd go in line with the top of the rim, or down about 6 inches from present location. BTW, where did you get the "numbers"

Top of the rim is too low for my taste, but I would like to drop it a tad (maybe an inch or two). I do see what you're getting at though, it'll fit nicely in that little wedge in the corner there.
I've got an '06 V6 with the Pony Package (with the small fog lights) and still everyone thinks it's a GT. So I like the idea of having the "4.0" emblems on the side. Thanks for the address.
First off those emblems look good, are they the ones from v6mustangstuff.com? (EDIT: Just saw that you did, cool!) Second, I had the 4.0 emblems on my car, but took them off because of the quality of them. Mine came from autobadges.com and even from a few feet, I thought they looked cheap. Am I the only one who dosent care for thier emblems?
Now with my car having a loud exhaust, gt bumpers I am back on the quest to put badges on it to make sure people know they got smoked by a 6, and know I'm not a GT. So I was thinkng of putting the 4.0 emblem from v6mustangstuff.com on the rear, above the tail lights...and getting the pony emblems for the fenders, though I can't find some that don't require to drill holes.
What do you think.
PS. I think they need to come down just a tad, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I think that since the period is silver, it leaves a more clean look. Same price too.
Be careful getting your badges off!

EDIT* Just read Rygen's post about autobadges.. certainly something to know about their quality.

How bout a "245" And I think putting the logo where the side mouldings is, if you have any, would look good.
I had those too from autobadges, same quality issue, and they are a bit smaller than the 4.0 emblems and harder to see. But opinions vary. Now, they do look cool on the side of a hoodscoop, and they are the perfect size for it.

I'd pass on the 4.0 emblem, I put pony package emblems on when I put the pony grille in. Even though I have a GT rear bumper with duals, I say "keep em' guessing". It's my hybrid. Let'em figure it out as I drive off.

Yeah, I'll take it into the garage tomorrow after work and move them around. The adhesive wont lose its stickiness after taking it off, would it?
If it does, that gives me an excuse to buy those 4.0 badges from autobadges.. I prefer that look way more than the red dot.. not so sure which ones are of better quality. The ones I have are clearly plastic, and look pretty cheap up close. Not to mention they're more expensive than the ones at autobadges.
So when taking them off, hairdryer it for a while, then peel at it with what? No way in heck will I take a butter knife or anything metallic to my fender. You guys have any other tips?

I specifically wanted either V6 or 4.0 emblems because my father isn't really a fan of the mustang logo. He finds the horse to be feminine and I'd hate to disappoint my father (especially since he's wanted a mustang since he was a kid... the most when he was my age).
I was looking into a xenon hoodscoop, but he immediately objected; he and his other 'car enthusiast' friends find nonfunctional hood scoops as cheap. I like the cosmetic effect, and a functional hoodscoop wouldn't do much of anything anyway. I cancelled the order, none-the-less.
