it was in sport compact car, it might have been a .92 lemme check...

.....ok so it pulls a .85...i dunno, I've seen it pull a .92 but it probably wasn't stock. Anyway, whats the WRX pull anyway? I don't think its much more than .90.

wrx pulls about .86-.87 but are set up for the dirt.  neons arent.  plus they just arent cool.  i have a 96 neon and it sucks.

You can't compare a Base/SXT/RT neon to an SRT4. There simply is no comparison. The SRT4 is a completely different beast than that of it's little borther counterparts, the SRT4 has it's own suspension setup, own exhaust setup, own engine and transmission, it has it's own set of 17" rims...it's Not a normal Neon.

I ran across one last night in my twin turbo monster.  He started reving his engine and laughing.  Wish it would have been dry.   I don't race in the rain.  I would have destroyed his butt.

Honestly,  who cares what they pull on the skid pad.  The SRT's are faster than the WRX and they look alot better.  WRX's are the ugliest cars on the road today.

SRT-4's  13.9

WRX      14.7

where the hell did you pull those numbers from? You are so very very off on the WRX...a stock WRX can and will hang with a brand new stock Mustang GT.

Last time i checked...14.5 were no where even close to a stock 99+ GT...maybe an automatic convertible.  Most GT's run 13.7-14.2...

check out the MPH, 94, if that driver had a decent 60 foot time he would be trapping 14.1s. EVERY OTHER publication I have EVER seen since the March 2001 introduction of the WRX has read anywhere from 14.0-14.5. Now that is NOT a 14.7 which is a big difference on the 1/4 mile track.

[/QUOTE] Granny must have been driving it....No offense Granny's if there's any of you on here..

Man if you do this in your 99+GT  there's no way you won't run high 13's very low 14's. considering the road and your tire conditions

1.  Lauch it at 1500 RPM.  That's not too high (so no excessive wheel spin) and it's not too low, (so no boggin down when you launch)...Not much wheel spin at all.

2.  Power shift from first to second

3.  Shift 3rd and 4th normal...Make every shift at about 5300 RPM....

WRX's get their low ET's from getting a good launch.  They slow down alot after second gear.  Neons are alot faster...because it's not AWD.

I'm still not understanding how powershifting helps on street tires. It only makes me break them loose and spin uncontrolably until I left off throttle. Someone said this about the new Cobra too, that it should powershift 1st and 2nd. Maybe 3rd and 4th.....

Well i always used this technique when i had my 86 GT too.  It never let me down.  Powershifting when used first and second will keep you close enough, so when you catch Third his ass will be yours.  Most GT's power doesn't kick in until about 3rd or so, as for the WRX it's strongest asset is it's launching ability.  You can't screw around with it from a dead start...You must do what you can to stay as close as possible until 3rd....then it's just like they've turned the key off...You will blow past them.  Trust me...I've beaten many of them here when my stang was all stock.  I don't think racing is racing unless you race them from a stop.  It's more personal that way.  Not to mention more fun.   ...Screw that rolling off crap. 00banditv838031.7315740741
