rear end gears

Does anyone know what rearend gears came in an 86 GT w/ AOD or where I can find out???

there might still have the metal tag on the rear end cover..also thier might be a code on the door most where the 2.73 or 3.08

i hade a 89 lx 5.0 aod.it had 2.73s <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley6.gif border="0">

usualy the aods have 3.08s and are optioned with 3.27s.....finding an aod with 2.73s is actualy kind of rare.

i had 2,73 aod it was a dog out the hole i could get beat by a honda,,but i sold it to blue stang 225...

I found out its 2.73s. Dont lke them too much. Puttin in 3.73s In a couple weeks.

Thanks mk thats very helpful, but I already tried it and came up with about three diff. ratios for an 86GT and wasnt specific enough. If you know a good site then let me know.

Your right. I pulled the 8.8 out of a 93 and bought some 3.73s to put in it. Cant wait to get it set up so I can put it in!
