May 27, 2006 was the day before my wife's 35th B-day, and we got a nice 06 GT in torch red/black leather. I've installed a Panasonic dvd/cd touchscreen head unit, 35% tint, and soon will add exhaust tips. We love it, more cosmetic and perf mods on the way!!
I got my 06' GT prem. 3 weeks ago, white, not planing on getting radical with it, so far I had the tint done and am now looking for a reliable shop to install a electric sun roof, so far I found one place in town that does this kind of work, they have been around for 22 years. Based on my web searches there is presently only one company that makes a sun roof for the 05' and 06 stangs. I plan to check out the shop and hopfully find some local Mustang owners that had the install done. The new car dealer said he would do it for $1295.00 but his sun roof was quite small, the one on the web was 33" wide. Once that is done I plan on having "miles of smiles". My last stang was a 01' GT.,ran it for 123,000 miles and got $6000.00 for it.
Got it 2/28/06! 06 Black on Black GT Premium 5/spd with 18" polished Bullits. I love it! Amazing how many strangers come out of the blue with compliments!
Just got my 06 last Friday, bought it used and saved, also came with exhaust and many upgrades I couldn't have afforded otherwise. DAMN I LOVE THIS CAR!
I got mine about 2 weeks ago. I was planning on spending 15k on a 99-02 stang, but I knew I'd be kicking myself for not getting the new body style. So I took a look at my budget and saw I could afford a brand new GT so I got one. I ended up buying it for $26,300 or $2600 off the msrp with the xplan and $500 ford loyalty program. I've never been happier with any one purchase in my entire life. I absolutely love the car and love cruising now.
My car: Torch Red, AT, interior upgrade package, active anti-theft system, and 17" bright machnied cast alum wheels.
I plan on tinting my windows, getting some nice 18" wheels, maybe some decals (not sure yet), probably a cai, exhaust, and a modded chip.

How do people get things like the xplan and the ford loyalty plan??
I know this sounds almost down right silly, but I'm seriously considering trading in my 05 for an 07 (so I can get very specific with my upgrades unlike how I took the 05) and wouldn't mind saving some money.
Well since the thread has been changed to include the 07s I will begin bragging as follows ;p
2 weeks ago I took delivery of my 07 Redfire Mustang GT Coupe w/ auto trans, Ford Autostart, and the wonderful Lowjack. Keeping the wheels at the 17" set, woth only the shaker 500 for sound but upgrading to the interior package with satin trim, the heated seats and power passenger seat.
The car currently is 100% stock until the 16th of July when the fun begins. Going in the car for tunes will be a Pioneer Avic Z1 headunit, 2 Kicker CompVR 8" Subs for the doors, Kicker 6x8s for the doors and rear deck, XM Radio (through Avic), my 60gb iPod Video, and a 350.4 amp. We will also be running all of the cable for the trunk setup. As well as wiring the CDC Sequential Taillight kit.
The following week the car goes into Action (a local shop here in F'burg VA) for a custom fiberglass box to house the 4 12" Kicker CompVX subs and the 2 1500 watt amps to power them.
Following the construction of the box the car will betake to the body shop (Most likely Gary Best in So Maryland) to have the Cervini's C Series body kit installed and painted (with exception to the window covers and maybe the wing). The kit will be repainted to match the car and then the car will be getting a set of 12" stripes w/ 1/2" gap. Still not sure if I am going to do black stripes or ghost stripes yet but there will be stripes.
Finally will come the wheels and then performance. The reason the wheels have been put off is because there are 3 diffrent sets I like and I have to make up my mind but they will be 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear. I will not be going to far on the performance because I like having a warranty, so probably just intake, throttlebody, exhaust, headers, and some suspension work. The list is quite longer than listed here but I think this post is long enought to qualify for bragging. Pictures will follow as the project moves along.
Hey, Got my 06 gt over july 4th weekend. has roush sport package with total redo on interior. Then got s/c and stage 2 suspension , 18" cobra rims Wow talk about get up and go. Cant wait till it cools off here in az. to go out to the track and race it in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile 117 high temp today
Got'er Done...a Black... 2007 GT Convertible....I opted for the Interior Sport Pkg. instead of the Upgrd...WOW..with the parchment top and parchment accents/black leather seats, its a great combo. Certainly not what you see on the dealers showrooms. Had to compromise and got the auto since my wife will drive the car too. Got a set of BORLA/Ford Racing axle backs waiting for it to cool down....just turned 25 mi.
First impressions....the 17" wheels will work...for now...responsive, steering is good, chassis is more rigid than I expected for a vert...must be all those extra welds in the '07. As I have posted before....I think it will be a great GT car...a compromise between sport, touring, and performance. I have no predisposed ideas of it being a speed merchant....I have owned Corvette C4s and C5s, its not in that class...nor does it have the HP or suspension..but the $32K after disc. is well spent.
I will be adding the plenum cover soon...after seeing them posted here...it'll be a great add on. Just joined the North Texas Mustang Club..so I will be annoying the hell out these people for a while too...
Drive safe...change oil regularly...and drive it like you stole it....
I pickup my 2005 Mustang GT w/4525 miles on it on 07/18/2006 for $17k - is it possible to purchase the extended warranty from Ford during the 3/36000 factory warranty period or does this have to be purchased when it's brand new?

X-plan is only available through the company you work for, if your employer is not a ford partner then you're SOL. You won't be saving any money by trading in an 05 for an 07. What options do you want on an 07 that you can't just put on your 05 now?

i have always been an import guy...my previous car was a 2003 acura rsx-s that i had supercharged the crap out of and it was running low 13's, high 12's with slicks. i was considering buying an evo IX, and almost did, until i stopped at a ford dealership and drove my car. i wanted a 2006 GT premium coupe with interior upgrade (leather) and the 1000 shaker...no other options. and lo and behold, on 6/10 a dealer close to me got one in stock.
went in on 7/25 with the plan of test driving it, but after test driving it i had to have it. bought it the same night, and traded in my old car for $12.5K (which is DAMN good considering how unreliable and abused my old car was). i had xplan but they wouldn't honor it, but went from $11.5k to $12.5k on my trade-in. msrp was $26k + $3k with tax, title, license, and the two options. $29,090 out the door was my final price. ended up financing $16k, and then getting the 100,000 mile warranty and wheel/tire replacement package.
i must say i love this car...i've never driven a car that is this much fun! i was a loyal import owner until i drove this car, and now i own a mustang. best part of this car is that it takes regular gas...no more premium/race fuel for me! saves a lot of money.
on a similar topic, took my car to the track already and i got a 13.498 in the 1/4 bone stock! all i did was lower the rear tires to 20psi and that's it. i guess 17" tires are great on this car!
hope to reach 300whp, then 400whp, then eventually 500whp+ some day, once i pay this thing off and/or save up some money! glad to be a part of this forum and a fellow mustang owner! here's pics of my black/black 06 gt:

purchase it when your car is new, and if you change your mind, you can always cancel it and they'll refund your money. better safe than sorry, plus the extended warranty (36k -> 100k) is well worth it...i definitely got that plan.
Picked my GT on 7/30 and I love it!! I already put wheels on it and was stoked that the tire shop gave me a credit of $700 for my stock 18" Fan style wheels. Only paid $1500 for 20" Foose nitrous wheels. I have already built this thing on paper, so it's time to tick things off my list.
Had mine for about 1 month or so..Black, Black and Black...What can I say...love the color. 2006 GT premium Vert with all options. Will post photo as soon as I can figure it out...
