Picked my new baby Last week 06 Black Gt convertible 5 spd with red leather and all the bells and whistles, and wow, I must say, It's about dam time someone makes some real american muscle. I have to admit I once wore a bow tie proudly on my Camaro SS, and never saw the day i would buy a Mustang, but boy im glad chevy F**** us with the Camaro, cause now I have a Real Pony Car. I can't express how amazed I am by this car. It will take a while to be faster than my SS but it's money well spent. It's better than throwing it a piece of garbage with a bowtie that couldnt hold itself together to save itself. That car wearing a bow tie is like being the "smart kid in school with down syndrom." Anyway, thats my view on this situation, and I am glad to be apart of a real american legacy, not a corporate joke. Can't wait to bolt some stuff on this baby !!!
Basically today is the day I inform the world I don't CARE about speeding tickets. =)
I picked up my '05 GT today, all Black with Black leather. Bought it used from a lady for 20k(!!). 17500 miles and the Shaker 500 sound system. This is my first Mustang, and dear God and I loving that car already. Thoughts of aftermarket parts swirl through my head....
Glad to be here guys, I've been dreaming of becoming a Mustang owner for some time now, and that dream has finally been realized!

Hi, I'm new here--my premium Vista blue GT has only been in my garage for 2 weeks. I'd post a pic, but it looks like the others on here. It's in the shop right now getting it's new white racing stripes. The separation is killing me!!
My wife made me do it. Seriously, she was the instigator. We have always been careful with $ and made "sensible" choices re: house, car, clothing, etc. I was going to wait until the wife/family car (Honda Pilot) was paid off before I indulged myself, which was going to take about a year and by which time I was hoping the new Dodge Challenger would be available. Then I unexpectedly received a sum of money that made it possible for me to write a check for my new car. I was nonetheless going to make a sensible choice and put it toward home improvements or retirement savings. Wife laughed and would hear none of it. I realized it was now or never, Challenger be damned! I have always loved the early 'Stangs - fastbacks especially - but never felt anything special toward recent versions...until 05+. Some people say a car reflects the owner's personality, but I had yet to find a non-classic vehicle that suited me until now. I hunted and hunted until I found the one I wanted - Windveil Blue - and was on the verge of driving the 60 miles to the dealer who had it to make a deal when something in my head whispered, "Get it in black, get it in black...". Ran down to my local dealer Wed. night about an hour before they closed, found and test drove the one I wanted, haggled with the slightly disgruntled salesperson, signed the papers and brought it home.
Now I keep looking for excuses to run errands around town. I spent the first couple of days driving it super gentle, but I'm finding it really just wants to go fast. I can't stop thinking about mods for looks/sound/HP and think I am experiencing the beginnings of an addiction. And I'm not sorry in the least. Oh, and I'm glad I got black instead of blue.
I picked up my 2006 GT Conv (Black, 5 speed, most options) last week and couldn't be happier. I traded in my 2005 Subaru STI for it. The STI has way better handling and feels more "on the edge" when you drive it, but the Mustang is a much cooler package so I had to go for it. I have a 1966 Mustang GT conv and this new car is a different world. The top doesn't even leak!! I love the car and can't wait to do a little GT-350H tribute to it. My wife keeps stealing it and taking my 2.5 year odl son for rides with the top down. He puts his hands up (like on a roller coaster) and yells "yee-ha". What a riot... and who said having a cool convert. isn't a good family car.

Bought an '05 Fire Red GT Convertible, black top & interior, 5 speed, 3800 mi on it. Picked it up in Miami and drove it back to Pennsylvania - covered about 1400 miles in 21.5 hours (with some help of course). What a pleasure to drive. It's now got about 5400 mi. Got a sweetheart of a deal - on EBAY of all places. Been wanting a Mustang for a very long time and fell in love with the retro look of the new ones. Bided my time and got exactly what I wanted thanks to my saavy girlfriend who bid well.
I took delivery on my Mustang 4/14/2006 and it's the 3rd one I've had the pleasure of owning.
Year: 2006 Miles: 400 Type: Premium (Leather, Interior Upgrade Package, etc..) Color: Screaming Yellow Trans: Manual “Why would you get a Mustang in an Automatic"? Can someone advise me on what mods should be performed first?

Indeed, I have just taken delivery on my new Windveil Blue '06 GT. I love this car! I wanted the 18" wheels, but thw 17's are just as nice IMHO, and tires might be cheaper. Doubtful, but now that I am fully involved in my well-deserved mid-life crisis, I really don't care what anything costs for this car. I got a Deluxe model with the IUP, Shaker 500 audio, 5 speed, etc. I am planning on tricking this little pony out with aftermarket exhaust, a decent tune, window tinting, a new third member w/locker and 4:10's and quite possibly a blower kit, once I research the engine specs and finish breaking it in. I'm working on a nice set of wheels for the GT already, much to the shagrin of my lovely wife.
I've had my '06 GT Premium for almost a month now and i can't get enough of it! It's Vista Blue, 18" polished bullit wheels, black leather interior. Traded my '00 V6 for it. Sooo many mods and sooo little money!

I'm new here, but had to join in on the hype...
'Just took delivery of an 06 Saleen S281SC, Vista Blue with chrome wheels and HID options. Purchased it from Middlekauff ford in Plano, TX and drove it home. This thing is a blast. Down here in New Orleans, also a magnet for dumbasses that want to drag and/or put their hands on it - especially vettes... 'Already have the early warning Lojack, but am also installing a ScyTek Vision guard-6000 with two-way and video camera. This thing cannot be left out of my sight.
Already planning my perf upgrades - shorty headers, 39# injectors, fuel rails, and a tune to start out with. Once we have a few miles, will consider a forged rotating assy, cams and much wider wheels to keep it on the ground. 'Will keep you posted...
Used Meguiars and also Blitz products, but switched to Turtle Wax's new Platinum series Ultra Gloss - I think it does a better job and is more durable (lasts longer with a hard shell finish).
