I am thinking of going with Dynatech long tube headers with high flow cats and x-pipe to go with my Borla catback. A few questions. Would this setup itself net a legitimate 20 HP over stock? Would this setup void the warranty? Is a tuner required with this install? Once in place I am leaning to a Roush SC and UDP.

After having the Bassani setup for a week or so now, I have to say that they are still sounding pretty tight. I have gotten tons of comments and stares and big eyes and open jaws. The only complaint i have is that around the 2000 RPM range the resonance is a bit much. However, I would assume that any exhaust that is louder than stock is going to hit the resonance frequency of the cabin at some point in the RPM band... i am hoping that when I swap in some 4.10 gears that I will pass right through that range quicker and it will not be sustained as long. Other than that - they sound awesome - especially when hauling a$$ down the 1/4 mile :) With the C&L CAI, SCT 91 tune, and Bassani x-pipe, cats, and axlebacks now in place, I dropped my time from 14.4 @ 97mph (fully stock) to 13.7 @ 101 mph. Hoping to get that closer to 13 flat with addition of gears and some fine tuning.
BTW from what I can tell from experience so far and all that I have read - if you are looking for some power, exhaust is not the first thing you should be looking at. By far the most effective and easiest thing is a cold air intake and a retune. The stock exhaust is pretty free flowing already. I would only recommned upgrading that for the SOUND and if you plan on adding boost - be it a blower, turbo, nitrous .... I strongly doubt anybody with no other mods is getting 20 HP from new exhaust. Go for the CAI, gears, pulleys first... Unless the sound is your main concern at this point...

06 Mustang GT Auto Vista Blue C&L CAI Brenspeed SCT tune Bassani X-pipe Cats Mufflers My Nitrous isn't working right.. Please help!!!
Anyone have Pypes stree pro mufflers. Brenspeed has them for $248 shipped. I need more sound cheaply. If all I'm doing is buying drone then I'll keep saving and get my tune first.. Thanks, WC
Thanks for the advice. I'm not doing any more mods just yet so I'll just keep reading posts to make sure I'm as informed as I can be before I make my decision.
I was thinking about getting the FRPP/Borla stingers, but am concerned they will be too loud - don't want to hear the complaints from the wife or kids on trips. Does anyone here know how much louder than the stock mufflers the stingers are? I have read the stingers are 97db at 3000 rpm, and that is why they don't pass the California test; I haven't found the level for the stock mufflers - does anyone know what it is?

I do not know about the Stock Db's but the Borla Stingers are pretty loud.Much louder than stock. They sound great but they are loud.
I live in Ca. but said screw it and got them anyway. The scary part is some sites say they are Ca. Noise legal and some say just the opposite. So i wrote Borla and they said although they are Smog Legal although they do not pass the noise limit set by Ca.

I have been deciding between flomasters and magnaflow, never the less recently I was told about SLP Loudmouth and that they sound great. I was recomended axle back. Are the really loud, do they live up their name "Loudmouth".
I recently purchased FORD RACING Headers and when I installed thedriver side header it grinds up against my steering column. When I looked at it from underneath it is like a milimeter or less from touching the header. The grinding occurs just after the cat connects to the header. Please help as I am desperate to keep the headers. If not the stock exhaust manifolds have to go back on.
I just had Flowmaster 40 series with 4" tips installed and I really like the sound. Deep/low rumble quiet under cruise but plenty of noise when I ask for it.

I should probably start a new thread, but this is exhaust.. On long tube headers like the JBL? I see the passanger side the tubes are the same length and the other side they just run them down. I thought that would defeat the purpose of even flow. Maybe not enough room, then still why only one side? Thanks, WC

The stock H pipe looks like a custom high quality piece and has one cat on each side up close to the collector of the header collector. BTW the are real easy to switch out - Ford did a great job making it easy to mod exhaust.
