I just recently intalled 40 Series Flowmasters. I could only get the mufflers for now. I am looking for some bigger tips because I had to use the ones from the stock mufflers. The drone is a little annoying, but I have heard it tends to quiet down once the break in more. Atleast that is what my friends have told me about their mufflers.

ok soo what should i get first............ Borla cat-back exhaust or JBA headers??????????
From what i understand the mufflers will not give any gain. I personally think you will gain a small amount. As for the headers I have not seen the manifolds up close on the Mustang but from what i have seen they appear to already have a header style manifold so not sure there is any benefit there either.

Posted this once in the general forum, maybe I can get more help here. I want to get the Roush axle back system, but also want the MAC long tube headers/cat back. Is it possible to mate the Roush with the MAC? If Roush would make a full system I am sure it would sell ton's, but for now, it looks like that's not an option.
What do the folks here think about the Bassani Axle backs? (Either the BX or the SS) I thought I would get some real-world feedback on them before I ordered a set for my car.

They freaking rock! I just put on Bassani BX axle backs last night. Today the x-pipe goes in.. I will post high quality audio clips (using studio mics, rather than the crappy one on a camera) with and without the x-pipe so you guys can hear the difference. The cat backs sound incredible so far. Very deep and powerful. The tips are huge too and look MEAN.

Here is what it sounds like with axle backs only. Tomorrow I will record the newly added x-pipe ... it is sweet.
Cabin drone is not an issue so far, just a sweet deep sound you can feel a little bit. At cruise speeds and idle it is very mellow and just sounds like it should - a V8 waiting to rock. Putting your foot into it makes it roar and you aren't annoyed at anything while your cheeks are flying back lol , medium throttle is where some reverberation is felt but I still like it ... after a few days we'll see if it is too much.

Thanks for the sound file nexusvox, that was exactly what I was looking for. I agree with you, that exhaust sounds mean when you hit the gas. Keep me up to date on the medium throttle sound.
Has anyone ever heard anything about the new American Thunder Series System #17410 (Axle Back) Mufflers by Flowmaster for the 05-06 GT. If so, are they any good? Any info anyone could provide on this would be greatly appreciated thank you.
I have these installed on my 05 Stang Gt and man what a difference!! The sound is great, low roaring rumble but loud when you push on the gas. Can't go wrong with these. Flowmaster did a great job as usual...

Hey regarding the exhaust on the Rousch it's suppose to be the Magnaflow. I just purchased a '06 GT and the day after I bought the car I had a JBA axle back exhaust put on. From what I've read the Magnaflow is the one to buy. The quality is a "10" along with fit and performance. A few people have told me DON'T buy Flowmasters because of drone and lacking quality. I'm happy with my JBA but I also have headers and a cold air intake. Go to the Magnaflow website and read the article the test a few different exhaust. Magnaflow comes out on top. I should have bought Magnaflow.

Great explanation of the sound and I would like to say that is exactly how the Borla Stingers are as well. I have recently discoverd that the Borla Stingers i installed are not Ca. legal for noise. So now i have to worry about bgetting a ticket . Lovely!

On February 06 I bought my 06M ustang GT, currently debating on exhaust systems, currently debating between SLP loudmouth or Flowmasters, love the sound of the engine as all of us. Which is consicered "better" an is the loudmouth extremely loud? Any suggestions will be greately appreciated.
