Just installed Pypes' mid-muffler exhaust, I am lovin it. Wife likes it too. It wasn't too bad to install, did it in carport w/ drive on ramps & jackstands, tricky part is getting clearances/fit right b4 tightening evrything up. Sounds great w/out bein too loud.

So right now ive got the roush off road axleback system. Im leaning towards full length headers with a catted x-pipe. Anyone have any sounds clips of this setup? i was thinkin about the BBK headers and catted X. I want a nice rumble but nothing too brutal that drones out on the highway. Any ideas of a good setup??

I just put the American Thunder series FlowMaster catback exhaust on my 07 GT.  Is there anything to modify it to make it louder, i.e. mufflers?... it's a decent throaty rumble, but would like a lil more sound.

Just installed the Boom Tubes on my '07. Here is a short clip out of and back into the garage:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v74/jrhenson/?action=view&current=BoomTubes.flv

They're a little louder than I thought they'd be, especially inside the car with the windows up. They may calm down after a while though. I got them from Nino Sport and although shipping was quick, the condition of these leaves something to be desired. There are weld marks on the outside of the tips on both sides, they're fairly scratched up and have some dents, and they look like crap if you look into the ends. I also had a heck of a time getting them to line up and look halfway acceptable. The video shows they are a little off center towards the outside of the car on both sides, but that is great compared to where they first lined up, and one does stick out just a tad further than the other. I don't know if I will stay with them or not... we'll see.

Let me know what you think.

i love the Corsa axle back sound also, got them from LMPERFORMANCE for right at $575 in late July, no drone is "absolutly as claimed".  it sounds expensive not cheaper like some of the others i have heard.  they are straight thru and when behind a Pypes off road H pipe (installed late November) are still non droning at freeway speeds when you just hold it at say 60,70 mph.  not loud at all just holding the same speed, but when you mash it down - wow, loud as fooocck.  it is aproaching ridiculous levels when pulling WOT from 4000 - 6000+ rpm.  i have heard nothing else like it.
in the high 13's w/ corsa's only, can't wait til the track opens up in late feb/ early march to try out my newly installed goodies from BRENSPEED.  they definitly woke it up.

Anyone know why the SLP LT headers are so much more expensive than all the rest? (about 450-500 bucks more)

Because it is SLP.....

Hey guys, I've been looking into buying an exhaust for my 2006 GT, When building up my exhaust system, Do I have to buy everything all at once? For instance, I'm looking at the SLP Loudmouth Axble back Exhaust, But my question is, What is the difference between a catback and an axleback exhaust system? Also what is the X-pipe? Is that another component that can be added to the exhaust system? Sorry for the stupid question, I'm terrible with cars, But i'd love to learn more and start modding my mustang. Thanks in advance.

hey gentlemen im new to the game i just read where someone said axel back muffler add no hp over stock? but i remember reading in a magazine where they changed stock mufflers added a cai and tuned it and it ran a quiker 1/4 mile so if the mufflers didnt improve anything why would they switch em out? i mean all the hp couldnt have came just from a tune and air intake mufflers had to do somethin right?

Just an update. I had the Boom Tubes on the car but it just got to the point where I couldn't stand to drive it any distance. I took them off and sold them to "thaztrain" here on the forums, and I just saw a post where he is saying they're too loud too. I have installed the Magnaflow axle backs and I absolutely love them. Rumbly at idle, smooth under power, and aggressive at WOT! This is what a muscle car should sound like IMO. The other thing I have really noticed is the lack of crackling when revving or downshifting. The Boom Tubes were almost embarassingly "cackly" (is that a word?) especially when they were cold. I had a V6 with a JBA axle back and it was cackly as well. The Magnaflows have absolutely NO cackling!

I don't have any sound clips yet. It's just too damn cold outside right now. Just wanted to sound off about the Magnaflows.

Yeah, they are decent forn the factory, the whole system is.  But if you just want more sound most go with an axel back.  Yo uwill get some small gains with some systems.  Now if yo uare blown, yo ucan realize big gains (20-30) with long tubes x overs etc.

Dont get a cherry bomb...stick with teh companies that have been talked about on this sticky, SLP, Corsa, Borla, etc

I don't think you realize that "cherry bomb" is the pet name for IMCO pro series mufflers.
