sounds like the lights system let you get a 6 inch run n' go to me . . .

no disrespect to you dude. . . but when someone tells me 1.8's are easy to get in our cars on stock tires . . . i want to shoot them. . .

then you get a 1.7 . . . on STOCK TIRES . . . makes it seem easier than i think, the best I got was 1.99 and that was w/ the tires damn near breaking away. . .

just my .02

It's called slipping the clutch and accelerating with moderation and a prepped track with lots of practice. I will post the video this evening.

only thing diff is you have more practice . . .

i've only made about 20 total passes . . . it was a prepped track and i can slip that clutch like none other. . .

Practice then. I wasn't expecting it, but my buddy cut some 1.8's also the same night. We normally are in the low 1.9 range, but this night was different. You have 18's also less sidewall than me. Sidewall gives you a little cushion.

true. . .

did you let the air out of the back and/or pump up the front?

It seems like someone can't accept that there might be a better driver than them. I heard of this diseas before, not common in this forum though.

read posts a little closer . . . you are missing the point . . . i know and accept 1.8's on street tires is possible and can happen, i said earlier, my best was a 1.9 . . . therefore. . .i have already conceeded that some can in fact drive better than me . . . given the possibilities of better track conditions and things too

but 1.7's . . . that is a pretty big blow to the driving ablility . . . i can accept someone being a tenth better. . . but 2 tenths. . . that was just a little hard to accept. . . not that i don't think people can't drive better. . . but thats A LOT better.

I don't think it helped that much really I had tried it and had no way to pump the tires back up at the track so I was forced to leave it that way. My best kinda happened in the middle of the night. It was my 6th pass out of 10.

you think the nitrous helped your 60ft any?

how about the temps . . . where they low?

just curious . . . i got my 1.9 in high 70's, w/ high humidity, and stock psi in the tires. . . plus the low walls cuz they're 18's

The starting line was great and the track had been resurfaced in April this year from the 330ft mark to the 1/4mile. I loved the launch pad, but when I shifted 2nd the car would spin almost all the way through 2nd. You can still hear it spin pretty bad on the vid I posted.

The nitrous just makes it more difficult to luanch on street tires really. My buddy in his N/A car had a couple in the 1.8 range and several in the 1.9's on the same night same track.

The temp in the day was 96 with a heat index over 100 with the humidity. I'm not sure what the temp and humidity were when I ran ,but we rode all the way back to the beach with the windows down and AC on. It was still hot @ 8-10pm when I ran those times. I would say still mid 80's with alot of humidity. I let the car cool alot in between runs. I would go 3 or 4 times and then let it sit for an hour or so. My car made only 10 passes while my friend hotlapped and made 19 that night. Heat does play a major factor in these cars, but I found that cooling the mass air meter (where the inlet temp sensor is) is the best way to get the most out of it at the track. I used a gel pack that I had frozen earlier to cool it until there was no water dripping.

note taken!

i got better times from just letting a bag of ice lay on the intake. . . u think the mass air meter being colder would help more?

Yes we tried both ways and it was best to get the mass air meter cooler. Not to cool though if it's really hot and humid and you get just the inlet temp sensor (located in the mass air) cold the computer will dump more fuel which is bad for the N/A cars.

I would....I have a C&L cai and my buddy has the JLT2 we tried to cool the intake and mass air meter and the CAI tube, but we didn't have enough of the gel packs. So we reall concetrated on the mass air and inlet tube for the CAI.

sweet. . . i have the C&L too

i usually put about 15 to 20 min on intake and then switch to the C&L tube. . .

i'll make sure it gets a little colder next to the MAF next time . . .

where is the link to the video? i am curious and would like to see it.

my best bone stock 60ft with the pirellis at 26psi was 1.96 (two different tracks) launch at 3500 slipping the clutch about 10% wheel slip. these two runs were 13.52
my best modded 60ft with the mt drag radials was 1.79 (same track) launch at 5500 dumping the clutch, no bogging about 2% wheel slip. this run was 12.80 with sig mods.

i wanna see a clear video...

The video is in the forum. Just a quick vid. The clarity is pretty bad due to the quality of the video and photobucket making it worse. By the way I didn't even have my ET Streets with me. My best 60ft on them is just a 1.72 ,but I hazed the clutch on that run. Notice the wheel spin on the 2nd gear shift. My car won't do that on an ET street.
