Ran 8.007 @ 86.20 last night in the 1/8th. The only track within 250 miles of home.
C&L CAI, Evolution tuned (for safety) SCT2, UDP, Zex 75shot, MT ET streets.

stang9325 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/25/2006 1:05:01 AM)

Great track conditions tonight. My previous best was a 13.02, so I was hoping I could hit (and be happy with) a 12.999. Well, I got it along with 2 other 12 second passes. I wasn't expecting what would be my best run of the night.

Check it out... Car #200 12.901 @ 108.14 So close to 12.8's

Still done on stock tires and gears

hardtohitme7 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/27/2006 5:57:43 PM)

what does a stock auto gt run?

stang9325 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/28/2006 3:20:34 AM)

There was a guy at the track running 14.7 in his, bone stock. He said he ran it a few weeks before and was running 14.1's. Don't know why there was such a big difference.

Wally39 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/29/2006 2:24:29 AM)

that's slow for a new GT

NewRoushPonyOwner -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/29/2006 8:18:03 PM)

nvm

Black06GT40324 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/29/2006 9:37:27 PM)

2.045 60ft
13.395 @ 102.758

C&L intake
Xcal2 tuner w/ Brenspeed.com tune
Flowmaster Axelbacks
Stock air pressure w/ 18 inch rims, 75 degrees

Twister086 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (5/30/2006 6:14:10 PM)

2005 GT 5spd with 18k on it. could go faster than 12.80, but that was my goal for the first modded day at the track. never messed with front tire pressures and still havetn gotten the rears perfect yet. i think it could go 12.70 with some more runs and some more tweaking. read the signature for the mods..

my next mods will be include but are not limited to:

stage3 clutch and flywheel
aluminum driveshaft
pro 5.0 shifter
engine torque limiters
frpp 4.10's
hooker longtubes and x pipe
steeda charge motion delete plates
comp cams, springs, retainers
trip to dyno shop for some tunetime (most likely evolution motorsports)

hopefully that list has me in the window of 11.80 to 11.99

then NitrousOxideSystem 125 shot

to get down around 11.00-11.25

jpbryant -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (6/5/2006 12:04:14 AM)

Yeah I have 2 tracks less than 40 miles from home that are 1/8 mile but the closest 1/4 mile track is 100 miles away.

jt14894 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (6/5/2006 11:26:04 AM)

This was my first time ever at the track.
My car was all Stock, except for the K&N air filter.
This was best time out of 9 runs.

R/T: .076
60': 2.343
1/8: 9.343
MPH: 79.30
1/4: 14.215
MPH: 100.87

I'm sure I'll improve the more times I go. All in all it was fun.

2006 Gt 5spd Bone stock 60ft-2.142 1/8-9.062 1/4 13.959@ 103.37

scramblr -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (6/11/2006 3:42:42 PM)

First time out to a track and first time racing...ever. Elevation at 1220' and temp was around 77*. Reaction times weren't great but did have a .555 and .567, not bad for first time. Best ET was 13.6 @ 103.6 which was a hell of a lot better than I expected after hearing how crappy the track is there (black tarmac/flight line taxiway). My average times (15 runs) was about 13.6. Definitely need slicks as I'm burning through 1st and half of second and sucking at the 60'. Best 60' was 2.17. All in all not a bad day.

Whoa...I ran the '06 for the first time Thursday night and had about identical times. 60ft-2.138 330-5.935 1/8-9.062@78.497 MPH. Only have 1/8 mi track close. I didn't even expect to run, but just decided to. Bone stock manual premium GT other than Steeda adj. 3rd link. Stock tire pressures also.

Black06GT40324 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (6/29/2006 3:09:07 PM)

Ok, for all those who want to know what a stock GT runs in the quarter. . . here is the run down. . .

Its all in the 60ft which determines what the run will be. . .

In the 60 ft, if you run a:

2.2 in the 60 foot, you will be at 14.0 to 14.1 w/ 5speed and normal weather

2.1 in the 60 foot, you will be at 13.8 to 13.9 w/ 5speed and normal weather

2.0 in the 60 foot, you will be at 13.6 to 13.7 w/ 5speed and normal weather(possible 13.5's)

and if you manage a 1.8 or 1.9 60ft like some people have done, then you are running 13.5's

(very rare, but possible to better a 13.5 in stock GT, but I know of one that got a 13.3 with 1.8 60ft and cold temps)
1.8 60ft on street tires is insane!!!! but possible

I think most people will agree with these stats, i have run 2 diff stock 06's, thats where i get my experience.

stang9325 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (6/29/2006 3:12:49 PM)

I assume you mean manual trans cars since all are 5 speeds.

yes. . . since that is what a 5speed is. . .

i usually don't refer to the new autos as 5speeds, i usually refer to them as 5speed auto's. . .

i see what your sayin though

newbikerider2003 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (6/30/2006 12:08:33 PM)

Recently I have thought about improving my 60' time while leaving the motor stock. I wanted to focus on traction and leaving harder. I've noticed many after market suspension parts and of course better tires(slicks). I wonder about clutch upgrades though. I think there is too much clutch slip. Of course when I dump the clutch the tires smoke up a storm, but I don't think the RPMs snap back as fast as it could. Maybe the stock clutch should be stiffer even for stock HP.

Jocce -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (7/2/2006 6:17:33 AM)

My first time to the track with the Mustang.

First, the "excuses"...Full tank of gas (so that I know exactly how much weight is in the car when as a reference if/when i start tuning the car), original tires (wich does not have the best grip!) and about 10 kg extra weight in the trunk (My camera equipment!).

The car is 100% original!

Well enough excuses!

Reaction: 0,440s
60-foot: 2,080s (This I don't even know if it's good or not, please tell me!)

Speed 1/8 mile: 126,61 km/h (78.67 mph)
Time 1/8 mile: 9,010s

Speed 1/4 mile: 161,24 km/h (100.190 mph)
Time 1/4 mile: 13,959 sek

I never thought that I would get under 14 sec, but well, I did, so I'm satisfied...for now that is...

Driver72 -> RE: Track times & Time Slips (7/2/2006 10:48:30 AM)

What track and what were the conditions:
Elevation?
Temperature?
Humidity?
Wind?

Based on the fact you were 100% stock and had a full tank of gas
plus some additional weight in the car a
13.9 @ 100.1 isn't too bad, especially in the heat of summer.
I'd venture to say too, that your track is not at sea level either, since
few are.

Nice run for the first time during summer.
