i had big plans on installing a supercharger on my great 'o5 mustang gt. i went to a well known mustang only speed shop here in los angeles to get things set up. to their credit they sat me down and explained a few things. they have had 6 customers (all '05's) go up in smoke due to the blower. apparently the new 3- valve engine has a hard time with the pressure and the way the blower leans out on top end. also, the new engine has something called "powdered" steel rods. don't know what that means but they also are suspect. the speed shop says the magic number seems to be 400 lbs torque, don't go above it. they did say that they have had success with tuning and if you decide to do it stay around 8 lbs boost or lower. they said that they would be happy to install it for me but wanted me to be aware of some of the problems that have come up. so i kinda think they may be on the up and up. bottom line.............BE CAREFUL OUT THERE !!!

Couple of other questions I thought of. What superchargers were they running and was the boost higher than 8psi? Generally, I have heard that more important than the amount of boost is the tune that is used.

We installed a procharger on two different Mustangs over a weekend. The installation went pretty much as planned. There were two install issues that we brought to Procharger's attention. There were two very misleading instructions. On the inner cooler the lower LH mounting stud was welded at an incorrect angle. I believe both issues have been taken care of. For detailed pics and notes on our installations, click here. http://pypesexhaust.com/gallery47.html

I have installed 2 Powerdyne kits with no problems...made an honest 399hp to the wheels. I have installed a Vortech also, a JT Trim, with this kit we made 510hp and crapped a rod out the side of the block. If you keep the power down around 400hp you will have no problems(with the right tune).

2005 Saleen mustang , stock motor,Steeda Short throw shifter,Steeda lower control arms,12 psi Procharger supercharger system with 3 core intercooler, and custom tunes by the best in the business Don & Matt at Modular Madness in Sarasota Florida. If you are going to anyone tune your Mustang Don is the best in the US!!I would bet my car on that....
529 rwhp/ 472 lbs torque... Oh ya we used a set of cooler Autolite spark plugs.....a new clutch setup in the next thing on my list since I thinkthis stock ford clutch will give out soon.

Not to be an arse or anything, but icangetit2 I wouldn't say those are the best tuners in the business with a burble like that at 5k. JMO

well that is a clutch issue at 5k.....That isn't a tuner issue.we have seena few cars with the same setup as mine and both of them had some clutch slippage at the same rpm level.we are going to order a new clutch setup and dyno the car againe and I bet we don't see that issue at 5k rpm....
