I took it FIVE times in a row.....I still don't believe it. My stang isn't even that great, few mods, heads, cam, intake, headers, etc... no forced induction, no Nitrous, no turbo....but yet I took that 308 FIVE times.....I still think it was a driver issue...(not that I'm the greatest, but I think that guy just sucked! ) either way..... I'm still smiling about it.
The scoop! - I'm at a light (as always), 11pm, big avenue, the preppie in his 308 was revving it up....looking over....I tried to ignore....but just had to test my stang......light turned green, and off we went, he took me off the line and but when I shifted to 2nd it was all over for him.....back from whenst ye came red dragon!!! (his car was red).
I stopped, waited at the green light (to give him a second chance) by the time he got there the light turned red.....green light...GO......same thing.....again and again and again......
We actually stopped in a parking lot cause he didn't believe I didnt have Nitrous or supercharger or turbo or something......damn I feel good....hahahahahaha --- he actually turned out to be a nice guy....preppie, kinda geeky, but nice person. (with a slow arse ferrari)...hahahahahahaha

Rob,
That 308 was a 308GTs the '82 Quattrovavole (4 valve) --- it had an eight. --- at this point it doesn't even matter....I paid and have spent in total about 6k on my car....this guy probably over 50k....and got his arse kicked.... 6 or 8....it don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that bling!

Good job on taking out Magnum PI. Now he knows what a real prancing horse is all about! The only Ferrari you should be afraid of is an F40 or F355 I believe. Don't think you'll see much of them however. Although remember that one Ferrari in Fast and Furious kept up with a "subposed" 10 second Supra. Oh yeah, whoops that was just Hollywood.

you know a 308 only has about 240 hp right? it runs a high 15 second 1/4 mile. a 328 is a 260 hp V8, and runs about a 14.5. don't believe me, look it up on supercars.net. that i know off the top of my head, a testarossa will only run in the 13's i believe, but they have very high top ends. an F40.... 2.9 V8 TT, high 11's. not bad for a car introduced in 87.

BC is right Jugador.....last night I looked up some stuff......but like I said....6K car VS a 50K car.....it just doesn't matter....no one can kill that kill. -- I just can't wait to re-do my car, the right way...I just need to find good shops and get the right combo. -- I live in Ft. Lauderdale, trust me there are ALOT of ferraris, lambos, vipers, porshes all over the place here..... ---
Hey, I still smile about that kill....
Stanglover....yes, I did read that article in MM&FF.... but my daughter (lil snot nose) is where I got it from, that one and "It's all gravy baby!"

no kill the kill really. the kill is the of course the owners shock and disbelief. a good used 308 can still run you into the 30's. brand new they were twice that, 20 years ago. they buy it, thinking its fast just cuz its a ferrari. most of the old ferraris aren't that fast, like most old muscle cars. a damn 78 T/A 6.6 smokey and the bandit edition only runs about a 15.6, the published times for my iroc was 15.4 stock. they dont understand that even though it's a big heavy ferrari, its still just a small block V8. about 3.5 litres. they look awesome, sound awesome, but it's like a bmw Z3, or boxster. just a nice expensive sporty roadster, not an outrageous overpowered sports car. people associate names with speed too much.

It was around 9pm and when the light turned green we ended up pulling two cars on him. Feared??? bs, those things only run 13's and for 180 grand, thats s**t

actually you can find a good used one in the 94-120K range. but it's only a small block DOHC V8, 3.5 to be exact. im sure they are a blast to drive, but only put out about 300 hp and a good driver might pull a mid 13.

keep in mind fellas, those ferrari's are so expensive because they are hand built and italian. Those arent meant to go 11's and 10's in the quarter. take the car to bonneville or a winding mountain road and try to run one with the stang top end or handling, youll get smoked.
id take a ferrari any day over any mustang, regardless if the stang can run 10's and the ferrari can only run 12's. the ferrari is an overall great car. european are the best cars built. they make the fastest cars stock, have awesome handling, best looking, and etc... if anyone says they'd take a stang over a ferrari then you need help.

then call a psychiatrist on me (unless we're talking a new ferarri, but not those old POS 70's or 80's ones. actually you'd have trouble getting me to take a ferarri over a new cobra, saleen, or roush [s/c is the key] with a good suspension)
