I just got a 94 5.0 with 113000 km its mint but i noticed when the cars worm if you let it idle for a minute or so it makes this ticking sound but if i rev it up at all it stops what could that be?

when mine did that it was my header leaking!! I bought mine with headers on it and it didn't have the back bolt on the passenger side so it leaked! just an idea i could be wrong!

Yeah same here. Header leak. Even if they LOOK tight doesnt mean they are. If you let them get to loose you can mess up the gasket and then changing the gasket can be the biggest pain in the A**.

Maybe a valve or rocker? Does it go away when you rev it or does the engine just drown out the sound?

I was thinking the same as you are is the car making a puffing sound or a metal on metal ticking sound?

i took the car to my shop and the guys think its just comming from the gear drive, does that sound right
