i have a 2000 GT and i need a new hood because of an accident. i want the saleen hood but the only thing that im not sure of is the vents. i drive in the rain and im not sure if they have something that takes the water away from the engine or if saleen does something to the engine to prevent water from getting in. any help would be great. thanks

THE VENTS ON THE SALEEN HOOD ARE VENTED,AS FOR WATER GETTING IN THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.IT IS A LITTLE ANNOYING.THE WATER DOES GET UNDER THE HOOD.MY 04 SALEEN ONLY SEES WATER TO WASH IT AND I GET WATER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.BUT DRIVING IN THE RAIN MIGHT BE WORSE.
You may have the info by now, but just wanted to add my 2 cents - I bought my 2000 Speedster in a thunderstorm, drove it home - 2 1/2 hours away, it got we under the hood, but not thru the hood vents, They let the air escape under the hood and the water doesn't get in while driving. When it is sitting water will get in, depending on the amount of rain, but if ends up on the radiator hoses, not a big deal - just wipe it off. I have chrome radiator tubes - so I keep them wiped off. I don't drive mine in the rain, but sometimes you get caught out, so as soon as I get home, I wipe it off outside and under the hood anyway.
The benefits OUT WEIGH the little bit of water you might encounter. One of my friends places tape over his vents, I wouldn't recommend that.
