Default well did my msd 6al ruin my ca

i was driving to my freinds and all of a sudden my check engine light came on flashing then my car just shut down.. i don't know what happened for sure, but my blaster coil was fried, and my extension harness from my 6al was all white powdery looken.this box was already sent out for repairs...it popped while driving also.they said they fixed it,could that box overload my coil? is there anything i can do to get this resolved other than bi***en to deaf ears? i save all my receipts just in case. has anybody had problems with msd? <edited><editID>grabbem88</editID><editDate>38026.9132638889</editDate></edited>

i think it did because the black wire was completely loose, but can that give my computer false signals making my check engine light to come on? flashing?
