Default Removing Air intake silencer.

I saw a guide for this on a 4.6L forum, and was wondering if we have the same problem. Could I remove this to gain a little more power, and with my K&N make about as much HP as the CAI? Or would this be an entirely different procedure?

most 5.0's dont have them anymore but there is a chance yours is still there, its pretty much the same as removing it on a 4.6, i remember reading a 3hp increase, but its mainly for sound

On the end of the air box there is this rubber thing. You just take it out. No biggie.

works on 87-93 5.0L
and yes it makes the same hp gains as spending 100 dollars on a cold air intake
just buy the rectangular k&n filter

Yeah I got a 95. The little part that goes into the fender is rubber. Just bend it where it is in the box and it should come out no problem
