No the tranny will not fit because of the bell housing. You will need the v8 5.0 wire harness. Basically you will have to change the springs, tranny, and a lot of other stuff. What year mustang do you have? Give me some more info and I'll probably be able to help you more man.
The V6 Transmission will bolt to the 5.0. But it's recommended to change it because the 5.0 pushes more torque through it, and it can break. It also depends on whether you have a Auto or a 5spd, and what year your car is. The 97 and up mustangs have better automatics that can handle the 5.0.
Hey I have my original 5.0 on ebay right now. I also have a fully loaded world class T-5 transmission and bell housing if you're interested. Inside the bellhousing is a king cobra clutch package. Also included is a Steeda clutch fork and throw out bearing. On top of the tranny is a Steeda Tri Ax Short throw shifter. the Tranny, bellhousing, shifter, and clutch only have 5k miles on them. I can sell you both of these together for $1,100 plus shipping if you'd like. Or if you are close you can pick them up. Email me if you're interest Monk3y@bellsouth.net
