Default Do you look at a members profile when taking advice from them?

I like to click on a members profile when I read posts, just to see what kind of car they have, what their mods are and maybe where they are from. I have noticed quite a lot of blank profiles as of late and I was wondering if anyone else finds this odd?

It's easy enough to be descret and still say what car you have.

No...it's fairly easy to tell if they know wtf they are talking about from their posts...or previous posts.

Oh I agree that you can a lot from a persons posts for sure. I was just curious to see if others look at profiles and such and put any weight in them.

I leave most fields in online profiles blank.. not because I am trying to hide.. im just to lazy to fill them out.

i voted no for a couple reasons

1. i only take some peoples advice
2. the only time i look at a profile is when i may be making a pm to someone
3. like someone else said, its pretty obvious you dont want to listen to the guy who says that ...(4.10's) are only good for getting off the line, and by time 3rd gear comes around you run out of top end...

heres a sub-question

Does age play a roll in the way you view a person's posts?

Default RE: Do you look at a members profile when taking advice from them?

Well when i really really want to know something, I just take the advice from the people that I know are educated in that field. i.e. 4.6 section I will take advice of dan04, code, jdan(where the hell is he?) nanaki, acer, racer02gtstang, 72mach199gt, montana, bad 04, johnbeast, cj, blueangel, 03 sonic, emann, fallstar ect. I left out all kidsa people but u get my drift. If i want to know something, I really appreciate everyones input, but im looking for those people's real life experiences.

if its general info about FI, racing, tires, its usually/always correct from jdan1969, jdan, 2000si, silverbullet, tommy V8, BPD, sidewayz, redass(hes really knowledgeable when hes not a smartass) Lee willis( seems to know his cars). ect. Sorry i left out u 5.0 guys, but i dont interact with yall that much.

These are just the guys that have always helped me out since ive been here. I have a great respect for them and their auto knowledge.
