Hello there..
Iīm new to this forum, and I thought Iīd start off with a pic of my new rear end! The car is a -67 Mustang hardtop, with a 351C, C4 trans and a 9" rear.. Itīs sort of a 4-link, but without the panhardbar.. Looks weird, but it works, and thatīs the point, right?

Hi Bob
Well, the framerail is actually not cut all the way through.. The inner wall of it is still intact, plus I made a sort of "shock tower" that is welded to the remaining part of the rail, and to the trunkfloor.. So it is solid enough..! The only downside to this conversion is that it became veery obvious how bad the stock front end of these cars is.. But that will be taken care of shortly..

Interesting. As far as the stock suspension goes, 40 years ago, that was excellent technology. By todays standards, it sucks! That's why there's a smorgasborg of replacement parts for them.

Haha, I guess so! But I have never been the kind of guy buying a solution, there is so much more fun and enjoyment in creating your own stuff.. Take the rear shocks of my Mustang for an example.. They were a gift from a friend, but they turned out to be about 4 inches to long to work in my car.. so what to do, but to shorten them? I did, altough I COULD have bought a set that was the right lenght to begin with.. But thatīs just not me..

Well, more or less, yes! I donīt have the same possibilities to adjust this one, as a "real" fourlink, but on the other hand this one behaves alot better when the road isnīt all straight, if you know what I mean.. The goal with it was to make a rear suspension that was better than the original, and not needing to cut the entire rear into pieces to weld a new frame in there, as is usually the case when building a 4-link.. It is just a couple of hours work to get it back as it was from factory, except for the two small "shock towers"..
