Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I am 17 and turning 18 very soon and I'm about to apply fora $5000 loan for a red 94 mustang gt which is 2500 obo. The thing is it has a terrible rod knock thats why i am taking out so much extra money. So basically what i wanna know is what parts i should use to rebuild this engine and if i should go with a 331 stroker since it has bad rod bearings anyway is 2500 enough to make a streetable 300hp car? The car as it sits has 3.55 gears,a new clutch, and a k&n filter thats it rest is bone stock. Thanks guys

What are the chances of me getting in the 300rwhp range? Ive been looking at dss's 331 kit but i dont want to buy a shortblock my father and i wanna rebuild my existing one.
You can buy a 351W for 2000 without the heads, and upper manifolds online, then just build from there. That'd be amazing.

Where can i get a windsor at?....The car has 146k miles on it ..i know thats a lot but. It has a new rear end,new clutch, new coil, and new battery, and i know that the motor is on its last leg but the body and interior are in excellent condition so i think it is a nice car to get. But is there anyway for me to get 300rwhp with 2500? i may possibly be able to play with $3000 or so. Keep the comments flowing guys. If anyone has any cheap parts for sale let me know. Thanks
My car has 160K and runs amazingly well. Anyway, look on Ebay for the windsor, there is a company in Georgia or somewhere on the east coast that makes performance 351 blocks and heads and stuff for about 2K, not really sure of the name, sorry. Check online as well through some searches. You can easily get to 300hp with 2k.

Here's what I would do: Invest in a 347 rebuild kit. You may need to do some boring out, but that's within the budget. New pistons, crank, cam, heads, the works. You can make some serious HP. Dont forget your usual bolt ons, and you'll definately want new Mass air, TB, CAI, 24lb injectors, intake manifold, full exhaust, and a good set of heads. The bolt on stuff is out of the price range right now, well you could probably get most of it, minus the heads. But anyway, build a 347, then save up for a while, and put on everything at once. My good friend has a 347 with the bolt ons I listed and it makes 475hp on the dyno, and over 600 with the nitrous, (which is why he just cracked his block in half!). The 302s can't take much more than 600 ponies, but you should be well on your way to a badass machine with the 347 kit. Go with that.

Absolutely do not buy that! You can get so much better and use the extra money for mods not a rebuild.Hell a stock rebuild done right with all the necessary machining will eat up most of your 2500.Dont do it theirs better deals hold off and you wont be sorry!

You are buying someone elses problems by buying that stang. And theyre right what else could be wrong? How long has it been knocking? Is there damage that cant be fixed?THe list goes on.
