Very nice time and I don't want to beat a dead horse, but.....these guys do this in a competitive manner. Look at the weight and suspension. Light weight + 290-300rwhp + suspension easily = 12's in the 1/4. As far as the owner listing all his mods....due to this being a fastory stock type class, the smallest amount of tweaks can make all the difference.
Finally, seat time has ALOT to do with good times. I always run well on my first run, then kinda flat line. It takes me at least 6 more runs to get back to where I started from. Even though this is a factory type class, make no mistake, they are race cars and my hat is off to them for insane times from very heavy tweaking and ALOT of practice. Keep it up guys.

Nice times! My buddies 99 GT runs 12.8's with bolt-ons. Also 2950lbs is a GT on a strict diet.

one of the organizers of our local mustang club (Montreal Mustangs) runs a consistent mid 12s with his 2002 GT only bolt-ons and suspension work. i've seen him go down the track many times, i've examined the car and talked to him quite a bit about all he did to it, very nice guy. if you want to find out a bit more about how he did it check out his site... http://forums.modulardepot.com/flyshow.php?&s=&showid=324
well i had a 99' with simular mods and it didnt run that low in the 12's maybe 12.8 or 13.0 and im a good driver, so i would like to really see this thing run, i dont doubt it just would like to see it.imo

vid was 17seconds long, car launched at 3seconds....17-3=14
not arguing either side, just commenting on what i saw
Ok....So you are basing the times off of the video itself...Then there is another guy above using a stop watch...Ya that's real accurate...Sto watch or video length vs electronic controlled beams at the start and finish of the track.....
Here is Qualification shhet from Reynolds 2004....NMRA event..For Factory Stock...My car is 6124Rey Rivera..The mods on the car were as follows:
Drag launch springs 50/50 rear shocks 90/10 front struts Built rear end 4:10 gear stock t45 w/ Triax Underdrive pulleys Mac cold air kit and a tune with a Diablo sport chip....on C10 gas which doesn't do anything but hurt this car.... Battery relocation/with kill switch...... Weld wheels and BFG drag radials Mac H-pipe w/2chamber flow.....
And an ok driver
Car weight at that event was 3025 lbs with me in it....
Stock fuel everything.... Not even aftermarket gauges....

Too bad Shawn Johnson does'nt run 13's anymore. BTW have you seen the revised rules for the 4v cars this year? They are limited to a 3.90 gear, gives the ol' 5.0 guys a fighting chance again
The 2v cars will be the ones to watch this year..The rules really opened up for them a lot..So if i can get my car done..I am gonna try to make a run for the points and some wins...:)

We won't be in the points run this year but would'nt mind winning Joliet (we got third last year) and maybe going to a few other close races. Making the trek to Bradinton, Atco and the like are not in the cards this year

Well here the mystery lies!!
Christ, 2950 with driver? Dropped what, 500-600 pounds off the car (depending on what you wiegh).
In other words... its not just a 99 GT with d/rs, 2 or 3 boltons, and suspesion work.
I wish I could drop my car to 2950 with driver too. But then it wouldn't be street legal without the airbags and 1/2 the dash.
Very impressive time, but its a bit misleading to say that its just got a few mods without saying what the wieght is.
Hell, they made that all stock nissian 4cyl car run in the 11s by weight reduction. The guy was sitting on a 5 gallon bucket, but they did it :)

What are you talking about not being street legal..It had the airbags....and all eguipment required for street legal status.....it even had the smog equipment then......So don't know where you get off saying that..And how it is misleading...You guys make it sound like I am over blabbing about my car...I didn't post this thread, but everything said about my car in my replies is factual..So maybe you guys should work on making your car faster...Maybe getting some more seat time in your car instead of seat time in your computer chair, will pay off in better E.T.'s.....Not to mention My car ran an 8.07@ 84 mph in the 1/8th with full interior Drag Radials...,dumps,pulleys,Triax shifter,And some drag launch springs....Go work on your cars, make them Faster and not your silly replies......

delk I hope you don't let these guys drive you off, we could use more tech knowlage and real racers at this site. Don't pay too much attention to thses guys 99.9% of them have no clue about the NMRA or what it takes to actually race a heads up class.

+1 ...if you want to avoid the BS just stay out of the video and street/strip sections, we definitly need more guys like Delk on the site to help out in the tech sections.
