Need some help please! I have a '97 mustang. I have recently installed an after market radio and my door and back speakers are not working right. I have sound but no bass at all. The speakers are also after market. I was told that in order for them to work properly I would have to re-wire speakers and by pass the factory amps, and they wanted alot of money for that. Any suggestions in order to fix problem would be greatly appreciated.

Does your aftermarket radio have front and rear pre-outs? If not, it makes it a little sketchy but we can still help you out. If you have the pre-outs you will need to go to your/a dealer and ask for this. If you don't go to Crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle 97 mustang w/ mach system, then go to the adaptor section and you'll see the what I call "gain box". and thats what you will need if you got a lower end deck that doesn't have pre-outs.
actually people say you gotta rewire this and that thats BS...i am the only 1 so far as i know that found this out.. you know how you take the factory tape and cd out?..well inback of the factory CD on the floor there is a amp..there is a clip going to it..go to pep boys and get the ford premium wire set..use the clip that says power and also there is a set up in that package that has a clip on both ends... 1 end fits into the clip you pull out of that factory amp.. snip the wires, hook it to your aftermarket deck, and there you go.it will work :-) throw the other little square clip away
