Default What Cam and Intake To Use???

Ok guys, I've got a 40 over 351 windsor and an FMX tranny that is going in my 87 coupe. I want something that is going to give me power from idle to 5 or 6k. Not sure what intake to use either, so i want to hear your suggestions on what cam and intake are the best choice. Keep in mind that it wil be carbed, not efi
I am running power brakes so i will need something that will maintain enough vacuum for that, but other than that idle isnt that big of a deal. This car isn't going to be a daily driver, but it will be mostly a street car maybe a trip to the strip every once in a while. I just want something to show up all these 5.0s and chevy guys around here.
Thanks for any help u can offer.

i would go with a performer rpm (or performer rpm air gap) and a cam with 224 intake duration @ .050 lift

Go w/ a Victor Jr. manifold. Best out there.

the victor jr would offer a little more HP, but the performer rpm air gap has much more torque throughout. i would go air gap

I agree with mkspeed about the air gap manifold as it will give you more average horsepower and way more torque than the victor will.
(much more usable on the street)
Also you could try the trickflow stage 1 or stage 2 camshafts. As long as your heads have some decent flow, then it should be a great combination.
What are you doing about heads anyways?

You know what, I have been told for the longest time that the Victor Jr. was the best but for the past couple days I have been reading about the Air Gap and it puts everything else to shame. Thanks guys for correcting me... I was reading an article that I googled the other day and it had dyno tests showing that it made almost 65ft of torque more than the Super Victor Jr. (or Victor Jr. ,... dont remember) and it was only 3 HP from the Super Victor Jr. (strictly race manifold) in high RPM's. Thanks guys for correcting me

It just goes to show that some research before the purchase goes a long way..
Good luck on your build.
