I just need to know the bench marks on the car. I want to know better with what I am working with here. The ol 232ci has some great power from it. I am the 2nd owner of the car, the owner before me had some factory mods put on it, double Chrome Fuel line/adjuster, Headers, chrome tip, im guessing a cat exhaust system but cant verify it yet, there are 4 cats under the car. I dont know about the TB or the Injectors, or anything else about it, alot of the information was faded.

stock for my year is 150, but i have also seen it as 145 and 138...... but 150 seems to be the most common in descriptions.... I found my cars weight too, 3077lbs... But since I have a manual its light, but I dont know how much lighter...
The car has alot of pep, and for 143,000 miles now, she is still running freakin strong... Soon enough she will have her engine ripped out and completly rebuilt. In the meantime im buying a Diesel Mercedes from the 80's and get 50's for gas mileage while I work on her. I could always buy another stang, but gas prices here in cali are going to kill everyone this summer... Some say that we might hit the $3 dollar mark... Course if i were to buy another Stang, it would have to be a V8 this time around, and I know I cant afford the gas or insurance for that $$$

man daz week sauce. My Friends 95 Hyundai Elantra has 124hp and is almost 1000lbs lighter and is way hella slower then my car, he has a manual 5spd too. Front wheel drive. I gotta have at least 170 cause damnit, 140 would be slower then smoke off s**t on a frosty morning.

LMAO!! Ya, it sounds like weak suace, but it's not. But remember, Jap cars are maxed out. Power adders put them in the grave quick. Your 3.8 is so stifled by Ford. A 3.8 V6 is huge as far as sixes go. The head gaskets are the only weak spot on our motor and is easily fixed when you go with new heads and Racing gaskets(many to choose from).
My sisters Nissan Maxima has a 3.4 V6 that puts out 240FWHP. But yet I walk away from her at 200FWHP, (I'm guessing my HP, haven't had my chip and dyno yet) I hope that gives you a little insperation. The fight is young, we're just getting started.
By the way NEO, if want something now. Throw a Compucar dry kit on. I think we talked about this before on another forum. It's an easy install and I just heard yesterday you can get one for $399.99. Not bad if you ask me. I'm considering one. HotRods_n_Booze38030.5987962963

What is a Compucar dry kit? What kind of power gains are there? And dont worry, im not giving up this fight, I have alot of people telling me that I wont ever be able to get even 300hp out of my V6, I just chuckle and think to myself how sweet it will be when I show everyone just what this V6 can do. I talk about pushing 14-16psi in the begining stages of boost and people laugh at me and say that the block and heads will never hold up, then I tell them that I plan to add 10 more psi ontop of that and they laugh hystericly I just cant wait to show them what it can do. I was talking about boring and stroking the engine the other night and another Mustang Guy that I have known for a long time ( ShouelessJoe ) was laughing because he said that i could never bore it out because in most engines 0.030 over was concidered extreem, I flamed him for that one and told him that 0.030 was an average achieved by alot of engines just as a simple upgrade and is far from extreem. Basicly I just want a 4.080" bore and a 3.74" stroke to make a 293ci beast. I dont know what rod lengths are acceptable out there for this engine but most likly I will use the slightly longer 4.2L rod and piston setup 6.091" (stock is 5.9135) it will help my rpm range a little.
See the thing is most people dont know their stats on a certain engine before they undermine and abuse it, smashing its name. Thing is, I can make this 3.8L a 5.0L easily, there is still more stroke there to go with. But I dont want to have a big stroker, 3.74" is pretty good for me. These blocks are strong, and yes your right about the head gasket being the weak point, and yes it can be easily remidied. It wouldnt hurt to better your cooling system too to prevent high temps from ever happenening.

*high Fives Neo* You get'm. When guys race thier V6's they usualy go with a 4.2 stroker kit on thier 3.8(very Common) and all forged bottom. But keep in mind, these guys are running twin turbos with a 150 shot NOS(help with cooling), 4:56 rear end Racing slicks etc. etc.
For a street car like you and me, we need to concentrate on N/A first and change things on the car to increase quickness. V6 Mustangs are made weak off the line on purpose. It's considered a cruising car, economy, etc. It's our job to change that!
Holcomb Motorsports is where I got my NOS kit, but look around for a better price.
Compucar make a model called Nitrous in a bag. Sounds wimpy, but it only takes 10 minutes to install it and you will smoke any GT on the road....errr, unless he has one too, LOL.
DO NOT let it go to your head. DO NOT run over 75 shot, infact 50 shot is where you should set your limits.HotRods_n_Booze38031.5628240741

Agreed, infact it is a well proven fact that 25-50hp shot of nitrous will actually help your car and increase its efficientcy.
170hp mixed with a 50 shot would boost me up to 220hp... Not bad. Plus im 200lbs lighter then the GT and about 300 from the DOHC cobra. Mixed with 3.73's that ALONE should be enough to beat most of our stock V8 advicaries.
But im always one to think bigger and better and never leave things well enough alone

I know, your like every other car guy. Enough is never enough. I've fried pistons before, it's no fun, but a dry Nos setup is pretty safe. No bleed off necessary, but that purge looks cool, hehe. Most kit have saftey pressure releasees these days so no explosions. A dry kit is pretty safe actually both for engine and you.
