no chance against the 300zX (it's zx, not z) whether it's na or TT. they put out around 200hp na and 300 TT. the tt version is just a little slower than the new 350z. which brings me to my next point. a '99-'04 gt has a chance of beating a Z stock for stock, but if you really want to ensure your win against a 350z, you'll need the 2005+ gts, and you still can't miss a gear or something crazy like that.

as far as the tiburon goes, don't know, don't care. it's a hyundai.

Any nissan, 6 cyl. ie: 300zx 350z will hand you your ass.... and the 350z has 285 hp and a GT stock will NOT BEAT A 350Z! they run mid 13's and a stock GT will run high to mid 14's depending on the driver. But the 300zx will beat u cuz its a small car an a 6 cyl.... so dont race him. the tiburons are a joke, its a hyundai!! enough said...

i've seen stock ones, but that's besides the point. the TT 300zx put almost the same power as the new 350z, and it was a little heavier i'm pretty sure. the 350z has been into the 13s multiple times too.

ummm.. just because a car is advertised to run a certain speed, doesn't man ANY person can do it. i'm sure there's plenty of people that have been to a track seen 350Zs run mid 14s. i've seen plenty of people on this forum with a stock 99+ GT run like a 14.1-14.2 . maybe an auto 99+ will run high 14s and get killed by a 350Z.

The 300ZX will kill you regardless.

The Tibby you should be able to take. They are slow. I raced one(granted I do have a GT) and took him by about 1.5 car lengths in about 150 meters. At that point I got off the gas and drifted to let him catch up and when he started to run by me, floored it and still one by a safe 2 car lengths.
I have race 99-04 v6s and they still get beat but they are a lot closer than that. I could lose if I miss a shift or something. You are a little slower than those v6s but I doubt that you will be THAT far behind. Go for it and report back. The one I raced was a GT v6 Tibby too(although I think now that it isnt saying much). Good Luck.

Personally, I think whoever put the GT badge on ANY Tibby, should be shot at dawn!

i was thinking of buying an 05 tibby as a daily driver cause they are dirt cheap. its funny how on the hyundai forum i used to post on, there are plenty with 12 second tiburons. i know stock the new gt isnt much faster than the 99+ v6, but you gotta watch out for some of the newer ones, with mods they are pretty quick. what year tiburon was that anyway?

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but I walk all over mustangs in my town. I only back away from the couple GTs I've come across. You don't really expect your car to beat another car with a similar engine and a lighter body, do you? BTW, I've got I/E, pulled clutch slave cylinder, and short throw shifter.

Now, I'm not exactly sure how fast a turbo tiburon is, as I wont have my turbo for bout another year, but it is most deffinately faster than a V6 stang. I know this isnt a turbo tibby, but heres what one with I/H/E does to your poor lil stang. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/6C261A71-595D-46EC-AFC6-3967CF8E1C1B.htm

Oh yeah, forgot to show ya perhaps one of the nicest tibbys out there imho. Oh yeah, and this is only a 4 banger as well. http://www.seoulfulracing.co.kr/forum/viewtopic.php?t=354

I've seen many videos of this car, and it has been dyno'd at a hair over 422whp but is usually around 400whp daily tune. Sorry, but the "Its a Hyundai!" comments really dont hold much anymore. I love the fact that now after pulling my "H" emblems off my tib, I get many people asking me where I got my car, how expensive it was, etc. Yes, they may be Hyundais, but Hyundai has come a long way from where it was. wish the same could be said about some other car manufacturers...

First of all, way to bring up a thread thats like 6 months old, then about 2 1/2 weeks old. Second, you brought it back up to talk about how your Tiburon can beat v6 Stangs, wow, what a feat to accomplish. And third, if all you have is what you said in your post, than a stock GT will walk you all the time, aslong as its 99+. That or all the Stangs you've raced were like old as hell with 150,000+ miles and the driver couldnt drive. I'm in no way trying to strike you or your car down, but lately we've had alot of dumbazzes come on here with their so called "fast cars" and talk sh*t about Mustangs and I just dont want you doing the same. This is an open forum for any car enthusiast, we just dont need people comin on here and saying their car is "god". Welcome and enjoy.
