i want the opinions of some hardcore mustang fans on my plans for cosmetic work on my car. i have a nice little sleeper going on, but i want to stand out a little. first off, i hate rice so dont call me a ricer... and if you dont like my ideas let me know so i can change them without offending the mustang community. first off, im tired of being on of the 700,000 laser red mustangs in the us, so i was thinking bout getting it painted mettalic royal blue... and since i like wings that sit flat on the decklid, (like the 03 cobra) so iwas considering a saleen s281 wing. im not trying to be a saleen, i just like how that wing looks... second, i was considering polished aluminum wheeles, i havent really decided on what kind yet, but would 18" be too ricey?? or should i stick with 17"? and last but not least, i was wanting a hood scoop, and --this was suggested by a hard core muscle car guy-- i was considering a shaker replica made for building 351w mach1 clones. my body shop said it would work, and i think it would look wicked, as well as very unique. ive never seen an sn95 with a shaker, and, even if its not real, i think it would look wicked. honest opinions, please. please dont insult me if you dont like it either, i want to know what mustang guys think of my ideas so im putting it up in the air before i do it. thanks, rob

MHO agrees. isn't it funy how ricers put those wings, intended for back wheel downforce, on their front wheel driven cars?

They probably don't even know what downforce exactly is.

Of course they do.It's the "force" that helps them get "down" the track faster.Hence the term "downforce" you silly wabbit.Hehe.

yeah, those kits can triple your FWHP on those bad boys. By the way, was up at wal-mart and saw some ricers sitting in the parking lot. Guess they're skeered of the track so they come there to get wax and stuff as not to conflict with their all show no go policy.

no Sean, I haven't. I am stil working on getting parts for my motor. Plus, its not the priority right now. I am working on basically rebuilding my drop top right now. I figure that I am planning to move to Florida early next year. So I might wait to buy a car for the motor until I get there. Thinking a mid sixties mercury comet. Whatcha think?
Today I sat next to a riced out Neon on my way to the local hardware store. I was in my v-8 Dakota. He of course had his system cranked... no bass all treble. ha ha. Well, I made sure I reved up the flowmasters on the truck so he knew what I thought about his crapper.

I don't know if you guys were just kidding around with the rear wing Front wheel drive thing.....--- I'm sure you know that when going high speeds that rear wing is what keeps their rice arses from flapping all over the road.....being small and having a sudden drop in the back air-flow(and this of course depends on the actual shape of the car) means that as the air-flow passes from front to back then drops and the rear of the car tends to be "sucked up" (same basic principle as an airplane wing which is called lift....) -- Mustangs having a longer wheel base only need to have a small down force on the rear as speed increases. (now if you have a mustang that goes over 200MPH, then you would probably need to put one of those ridiculous tall wings in the back to keep your arse on the ground). -- ...and now that I realise that I have probably put everyone to sleep with my boring long-arse aerodynamic jibber-jabber....my apologies...I'm an engineering freak that is always going on and on and on...... Have a great day folks..... PS - I'm going to rebuild my Stang from the ground up and need some shops in South Florida (cause I don't have a garage anymore...bummer) any advice would be kewl!
