I would use an edelbrock for a DD but for a strip car I would have to go with Holley.

I voted for "other" You can't beat the reliability of an Autolite 4100 1.08. It was the best carburetor ever designed for the 289-302.

ya edels are great dail drivers and they work pretty well and they do have good tunability you just gotta know what your doing with the rods, springs, and jets but the same goes for holley it really boils down to what you know i have carters basically an edel but a tad diff and i know what i am doing and it has never failed me i have used holley also and ya there is a bit more maintanance cause you don't set it and forget it but the mods that you can do to holley are incredible i personally like BG better but that type of carb will give you everything you motor has got when you set it right and on a 289 anything above 600 cfm is a waste of gas

and newer holley type carbs such as the avenger series are alot easier to tune and prepare and you can find nift thing i think its in jegs where you can adjust your jets without removing the fuel bowl

I personally think that holley is better. When dealing with my cars i have always been able to tune the holleys better for performance engines. I think that edelbrock is better for engines that are close to stock and they look better, but holley is where the power is at. This is just my experience, i have heard good things about both.

So, by looking at my sig, should I go for the 570 or 670?

I think Thumpin is right...looking at your sig, that is a fairly tame engine. the 670 is going to be too big.
I run a 650 vac sec on a 302 that has a lot more work on it than your sig suggests. its plenty big enough.

If i had the money, I'd probably change it over to a DP/ Mech secondary. No particular loyalty to the Holley street carbs just never had anything else. Their comp carbs are excellent.

Not bad hey!
