im sorry if this is a repeat post, but i would like some input of what other people think. This spring i am planning on doing a motor swap. I want to take my little 2.3 liter out and drop in something bigger. What does everyone think i should go with. Would a 5.0 be good or should i go bigger. I guess what i mean is what would be the best to drop in with out doing a sh** load of mods just to get it to fit. I know that the motor, tranny, driveshaft, and rear axle will all have to be swaped but i want to avoid having to mod the body to much. What would be a good donor car. I am going to have a little over a grand to play with. Any input would be appricated.

hey next time invovle some info on what kinda year and such your stang is, but since u said 2.3L i'm guess that their was an option of getting the 2.3 or the 5.0, so your best bet would be 5.0 and bore it out.

yeah boss id do that get a 5.0 and bore and stoke it hell i got a ride in a 347 and even though it was a cold day when my buddy caught second this thing went squirrly i wish i could get that kind of displacment

the car is an '88 2.3 liter LX. what i am asking is should i go 5.0 or bigger. if i go bigger then that, how much more work would be involved. sorry for leaving the info out earlier but that is what happens when you are in a hurry.

88 kicka$$, me too 88 lx 2.3L, if u went bigger, motor mounts, i aint that big of a car person to know much, but motor mounts, if u went to big, exhaust would probably have to be bent or reshaped quite a bit. for an old car like ours, i would say to much work, i wouldn't trust my car to a run a 5.0 for long with out tweeking the chassis. bore the 5.0L alum everything, turbo or supercharge and that thing will be fast, i mean the car is already light for its size.

Dude, I'm doing a 2.3T in my 88 LX convert and trust me, you could do a 5.0 big time for less money

just carb it you'll be glad you did when you sit a v-8 in it...I'd put a 331 in it
