Default fiberglass vs. wood box

Well I have the oppurtunity to get either a fiberglass or a wood box custom made to fit my 2006 mustang's trunk, there is no question the fiberglass looks better, because they will actually paint it to match my car, but what is the difference in the sound on a fiberglass box and a wood box?

just for reference I will be running 2 Kenwood w3009 12" subs (800) peak, and a kenwood 1200 watt amp on a kenwood ddx-7017 touch screen head unit.

thanks for the help
Zach

you shouldnt really notice too much of a differnece if done right. How come your getting the kenwood stuff? the deck is alright but the amp and sub are very low quality.

JL has some pretty good stuff. how good is a reasonable price tag and what do you want to do get loud, get loud and sound good, or just sound good?

i would say probaly the best ones in that price range would be 2 alpine type r's in a sealed box. they will sound really good and get decently loud. you can get those off ebay for like 125-150 each.

That's mostly subjective.

i would say it would have to be either the DLS X12 which you cant buy anymore or the new DLS Nobelium 12. those are some of the top if not the best subs you can buy for SQ. the X12 was reviewed in a magazine once and it said if there was ever a perfect sub made this would be it and they have tested just about ever kind of sub you can think of even the JL w7 which did pretty bad compared to those.

boston g5 woofers. Two tens will fit in a 1 cubic foot total box. Super tiny and very impressive. I recently bought my stang and since i work in the car audio industry i was able to put together what seems to be a pretty solid system.... 2 10inch g5's, 2 and half sets of boston z6 components, half set for center channel, boston gt-42 for the highs, gt-28 for the bass, gt-20 for the center channel, and the almighty xxv-05v 25th anniversary screen for the in-dash unit. This being the monster Kenwood unit. Absolutely amazing radio. full system with cables....9,000.00. sound of Gone In 60 Seconds in dolby digital in the car........PRICELESS. Caution: driving while video is playing in the dash..... bad idea.
