SRT-8 is rated 425 HP from the factory. It is a 6.1L Hemi.

Already does. Stick some more batteries in there, a couple electric superchargers, you could even hook up a trolling motor to it.

On one hand you're paying to drive a big clunky box that handles like a... big clunky box.

On the other you're paying to drive a nostalgic road race car that will get looks no matter where you go... and will actually keep or increase its resale value.

According to Daimler/Chrysler, the block can handle over 800 HP. And the motor stock can take 13 PSI with out any problems what so ever. S/Cing the SRT8= 500+ at the wheels no prblem. The tranny is designed to be programmed for any application fot he 6.1L HEMI, too. If it gets put into the Callenger(if they build it) then the Mustang GT500 is going to have to become the Mustang GT,a dn Ford is gonna have to make SVT cars a whole lot meaner, haha. Where did you hear this anyways? And was it int eh quarter, or what? Cause the GT tops at 212+change, and the 300C is a brick.

Whoa this info is way off, and really wrong. 300 SRT-8 runs 13.2 @ 108 1/4 mile(Motor Trend). Ford GT somewhere around 11 sec 1/4mile (Motor Trend, but I read it a few weeks ago so i forgot exact numbers.) Ford GT smokes 300 srt-8 and runs with the new z06 with the 427.

Other way around friend. The Z06 runs with the GT. By saying it the other way around(GT runs with Z06) you are incinuating that the Z06 is faster than the GT, hence the reason the GT would run with it. I don't believe this, and would like some proof. BUT, it seems whoever made the so long ago has R-U-N-N-O-F-T.

Ford GT > any SRT modle ever made (including the viper) I don't give a damm what is done to it or how many horsepower it has.

Well yes, the $180k supercar does outrun the $65k ZO6 in a quarter mile, by about .2 a second. In the turns.....it's a different story. So it depeneds on how he meant it.
