ok, im driving home from work, doing about 63, and i see some lights come flying up behind me, gets along side of me in the slow lane (im in the hammer lane) and slows down to match my speed, this is a lame ass old bonneville, brown with a 2 foot metal wing and a glasspack, and this thing is loaded with people, 4 that i could see and i think a 5th may have been in there too.

anyway... they hang out the windows, shouting at me and pointing ahead, trying to get me to race. im low on gas, so i decide not to waste any on these losers, and i wave them off, and then they start flipping me off and calling me a p*ssy so loud i can hear it clearly in my car. so this angers me, and im like, ok lets go, and they got the picture. i signaled and we went. i jamed it into 3rd gear, and was gone. 60-100 real freakin quik, this thing is so far behind i trhink theyre not even racing, so i slow down to 70, and they do the loser flyby, then hit there hazards. so, i get on it, get along side, and we go again , but this time i wait untill i actually see them going to hit it. so i do, and i walk on them , and i just keep going.

if you have such a peice of crap, why do they try to race things like a mustang??

If I'd put some quiet exhaust on mine I wouldn't have a problem, but that cam just grabs too much attention.  When my truck had the decals on it I had idiots pulling alongside all the time.  They've been off for a year, but they're going back on next month when it's repainted.

You ought to be flattered. I would bet they did it just to see your Mustang fly. People with shi*#y cars like to see the fast ones go. You gave them a good show.

LOL. Yeah, not just because I have a Z06, but they are superfast!!! I was totally shocked when I first test drove it. I never thought a car could be put on a street that was that fast. But I agree with makarovboy. I think that most of the guys know when they see a fast car, and they know they will get smoked, they just like the thrill of seeing the fast ones really wound up on the highway. Which, if I had a crappy car like theirs, then maybe I would too...

Plans on getting to a 1/4 track in the near future?  Have you modded it in any way?  I'd like to hear the times from someone other than a magazine...their drivers frequently aren't the best.

Well, there aren't any 1/4 tracks around me. The closest one is probably Commerce, GA, but they're always booked with a lot of high class events. I haven't done any mods to it, it's completely stock. The guys at corvetteforum.com average around a 12.4-12.5 in the 1/4 with a stock Z06. Pretty good coming from the factory.

Amen to that! I actually have done that a couple times... lol But i'm not going to concentrate too much on my Vette. I'm getting my Cobra as soon as I save up some money, and then I'm going to work on that blowing away my Vette. Hate to see the Vette go, but deep down, I've always been a mustang man. And with this new cobra, it makes it that much harder to turn away from ford!!!

I'm already seeing them priced as low as $28,000 for a used one. May not be too far out of your reach.

At my dealer (Gwinnett Place Ford), they have Boss 5.4L F-150s, Mach1s, Cobras and Roushs. l think they specialize in Mustangs.
