You know, you can go to forddirect.com and search their inventory. It shows exactly what dealership has what car and what each car comes equipped with.

I did all my research online, narrowed it down to 3 that I really liked, and when I went to the dealership, I had the Vin #, knew exactly what each stang was equipped with, knew how much it was wholesale, how much the dealership actually paid for it, and what the MSRP was.

The salesman that helped me was like "Holys**t girl! you've got your s**t going on!"

He was pretty cool and did not give me a hard time. When you go in there with all your numbers and knowing their numbers, they can either sell it to you and make a fair comission or they know you will take your papers and get it somewhere else.

BTW, your insurance is going up $165 every 6 months, so HOW much will you be paying for insurance with the new Stang? How old are you? (if you don't mind)... just wanna compare and see if I'm getting a good deal with mine thru State Farm.

I'll be 33 in April. My wife is also on the policy and she will be 31 in May. We also have State Farm. We will also have a 98 Rodeo on the policy. We currently pay about $600 every six months with the Rodeo and the vehicle I am currently driving (don't ask). So our rates should go up to about 765 every six months. We've both been lucky enough that we have clean records. I think she's only had 2 tickets her whole life and the last one was over 5 years ago. I've never had a ticket. I'm hoping that doesn't change when I'm racing around with a V8 under the hood :)

I went to a dealer this evening. I showed him some quotes from some other dealers. For some reason he didn't have what I was looking for on the lot. He said he could get it but he would lose his holdback because he had nothing to trade. He was kinda of flustered. He said the deal I quoted was very good. He said he could beat it by at least $300 if he had one in stock. He even printed out his sheet with invoice costs and hold back costs of the exact vehicle (via VIN#) that the other dealer quoted me and gave it to me. He said he flat out could not beat that deal. It felt really good having the upper hand at the dealer. When I got back home I had another quote in my email from a different dealer. Amazingly enough he beat my best quote by $300 and the car was even red! I'm thinking I'll have the GT by Saturday at the latest. I read that the dealers are alot easier to haggle down near the end of the month because they are trying to make thier quota.

I would have to research the 99 Gt. New cars are alot easier to get prices on because you can find out what the dealer paid. The dealer could had paid alot all the way to next to nothing for a used vehicle. Makes it hard to nail a price down.

Bcisme

Yup. Hall was the dealership that said they couldn't match the offer Beach Ford sent me. It was kinda a shame too. I got a good feel from the dealership and they are just a few miles from the house. The best offer I have right now if from Freedom Ford. However I'm gonna go see Bowditch on thursday to see if maybe they can match. They are also pretty close to the house. I think regardless of where I buy it I'm gonna have it serviced at Hall. The Hall sales manager actually told me that Beach Ford was offering a great deal. And he said to them them Hall said so. :)

we are fortunate to have some great ford dealers around here. bowditch, beach/barton and freedom ford are all top notch dealerships. but as far as service, i think hall ford can rival anyone in the friggin world. their body shop is amazing.

Well...I brought home my new Stang tonight. Red GT Vert premium with the interior upgrade package. I think I was able to get a pretty sweet deal. With the rebate I was able to get them $6500 below the MSRP. I even got a couple dollars for the trade in. The Stang is an amazing machine. I spent an hour just driving around town trying to get a feel for her. Now I'm think I parinoid about getting a ticket. Oh well. I'll get used to the speed soon enough.

the 05? And pay a premium for a car that probably doesn't have all the bugs worked out yet. The 06 maybe. I got the 04 for $6500 below MSRP mainly because everyone else is waiting for the 05.

The 05 will probably be a great car. I did think about waiting but I didn't want to sink a ton of money into my existing car to keep her running.

It's red. And I'm gonna name her "I don't have to take it into the dealer once a month like the 05" :) Two can play this game :) Actually I haven't named her yet. Something will come to me.
