Default drag radials

I just got a 1994 SVT cobra, with the basic stuff done, it's in storage for the winter right now (wisonsin) but this spring i plan on going to the track, i think i should be able to pull a low to mid 14. But ove winter i am ordering some 17x9 cobra r chrome wheels, and I want to put some Nitton 555r DRs on the back wheels but ive heard that il break an axles right away, do you guys think ill be ok with stock axles? im also putting in my 3:55s i just order. But my goal for this summer is to be in the 13s so what else would I need?

You'll be fine on those DR's

For an example of how stout those factory ford axles are:
Was launching the car at 4k-ish on the juice for about a year(making only around 390rwtq) axles held up and provided me w/ 1.6 60's.
Upped the power this year to about 420rwtq and it finally decided Hey, this isnt right.
And snapped at the line.
These were on a much stickier tire than those nitto's.
So don't fret, you will not break an axle unless there's already problems down there in the first place.
IE hitting a nasty curb or something?

nittos are very unlikily going to break axles. for what its worth ive cut a few low 1.5's a few high 1.6's and lots of low 1.7's on the stock axles. auto car though.

Where abouts in wisconsin are you from?

Also, I wouldn't worry about breaking axles as long as the bearing aren't chewing into the axles shafts to begin with.

Your not going to break your axle's with a stock motor and nittos, and it would be very noticible if the bearing's where gone in the rearend since it would be very sloppy not to mention very, very noisy.
