If you watch the corvette hits curb video, listen to the car that starts up after the vette hits the curb, I filmed that right behind the C6 Breyton raced.
That car sounded like satans asshole ****ting fire. AWESOME.

I think Breyton is a good sport for racing that 06 zo6, im not suprised that he lost to the vette, that has 500hp and 475ft. lbs of torque and may i add its a lighter car with a way bigger engine but good job n e way, its kind of like a Ford GT racing a Camaro SS its pretty clear who would win that race, but i cant wait till the 07 Shelby comes out, im more then sure that they will be in the 11's with the supercharged 5.4 liter with 450hp, everybody please remeber this is a Z06

But the GT500 is still not a Vette competitor. It might be almost as fast in straight line, but overall track performance is not close.
I don't see the GT500 averaging over 1g on a track or beating cars like Murceilago, Porsche GT2, Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, or Zonda around the Nurburgring. And it's not suppose to at its price.

true ...stangs aren't renowned for anything else than straight line. on the other hand the R was a great handling car (over 1g) so you never know where they'll be going with it until it's done.

What ever it is I'm doing in the video. Beating the crap out of the Cobra or racing it. I'm just out having fun. Unless you are willing to push the limits of you and your car you will never know what you are ultimately capable of. That can be perceived as beating the crap out of the car. Either way I've seen many a person ruin a car by driving it in, what may seem, a normal manner.

well the GT only need the pullys swaped to make the 11sec zone, and the GT500 is 50 hp less so i think if you put the same pully on the GT500 then i think they should be pretty close, but the GT is more arodnamic(Sp?).

i dont see the vette beating any of those cars on a track either, you say the GT500 may not be a great handling car but you never know until it comes out, if you remember back in the day, Shelby made some bad ass cars which did great in both straightline and track racing, but you also have to remeber Mustangs werent made to be Vette competitors anyway, what do you think the vette would do against the Ford GT on the track or a Saleen S7

All I can say is it had the mother of all exhaust systems because it was loud as hell. Or it could of been running open header. Either way I could hear it over my car and I know how loud my car is.

In defense of the guy in the Corvette, the curb he hit is in an area with no light and surrounded by gravel. It's very easy to miss. He was going after a Cobra when the crash occured. Speed and poor visability were the factors. Is he a f***ing moron? Possibly. The only things hurt were his car (minor) and his pride (major). A real f***ing moron is the guy who takes another car out.

Second, yeah it is supercharged, but its a 4.6L. The C6 is a 7.0L, so i think that it is fair to say that the N/A corvette has the upper hand.

I couldn't have said it better myself, its kinda like putting a Cobalt SS against a Corvette C6, even though the Cobalt is supercharged its still no match for a vette with a 6.0 liter motor, but i have seen one video with a Cobra that had 460rwhp beat a Viper SRT10 from a roll
Try racing one of those new Saleen S281 Extremes i think that would be a good race, 500hp and 480 ft.lbs of torque
