Default best mod to start with

Hey everyone. Im new to this website and its pretty cool on the advice it shares to other mustang owners. Anyways i purchased an 03 mustang gt this past may and am looking for my first mod which is probably exhaust but still am debating. I would like to hear your guys opinion on which mod to start with and what brand specifically. And if anyone is from the LA area any recommendations as to shops to purchase these parts. Thank you for your responses in advance.

The most gain for the money will come from some gears... 4.10's
Either Ford or Motives

Cold Air Intake is a great investment, really improves gas mileage also. My first mod was exhaust, and exhaust is still my favorite mod. But I don't have gears yet and I think alot of people who do will argue with me.

Go with 4.10`s first. You wont notice any kind of a difference with a CAI. Youll have to do your whole intake to see a difference. Start with the gears then do your exhaust.

most impressive performance = gears (also cheapest and best bang for the buck....except nitrous)
best mod for appeal (sound) full exhaust

The first thing that i did to my 99GT was a partial exhaust. Midpipe and catback, and then i got 4.10's

If i were you, I would get the exhaust first. I know this is different from what most others were saying but listen to my reasoning and decide from there.

If you just got the car, and if it is a 5sp, you'll probably want to get used to the way it drives for awhile. Gears are amazing, yes, but if youre still unfamiliar with your limits (hard driving) and you switch right over to the gears, its gonna take you a bit to get them undercontrol (plus, the power you feel from the change wont seem as impressive cause you wont be used to the old rear end)
just a thought

secondly, exhaust is more fun in my opinion. ANYONE who is around yorue car is going to hear the exhaust, before they realize you have gears. Other than large exterior mods, like wheels/tires, exhaust is gonna be the most noticable modification you can do.
i have an o/r H pipe and the borla catback and i feel it is my best modification thus far because of how many compliments i get

not too mention, lots of people ask what mods i have and im like, well, exhaust gears,, etc..
and theyre like "gears?"

its all preference though
(if you do get gears, esp. 4.10s,, tires will have to happen before exhaust if youre going to the track anytime soon)
