After noticing that Westway Ford Irving, TX chose to take my car out for a night on the town last week, I called the dealership and was told I must be lying about the mileage because they wrote it all down. I attempted to calm down and wrote the following in an email.</P>


Westway Ford,

I am writing to complain about my recent service with your shop. On Monday, June 4, 2003 I brought in my 2000 Mustang Saleen to have an Air Conditioning problem resolved. The car stayed at your shop overnight, while you waited for a part to be delivered. Tuesday at 4:30, I arrived to pickup the vehicle and was disappointed in what I found.</P>


My car stereo settings had all been changed and an alternate CD inserted into the deck. Both seats, and the steering wheel, had been adjusted for someone else. My clutch is now making a high pitched squeek, and travels much differently than before I dropped off my car. The car has 23 miles on it that cannot be accounted for.

Once I began to suspect that someone had driven the car, I completed the drive home, and took pictures of the mileage stated on the Oil Change, as well as what my mileage was driving home. (See Attached) When I arrived at home last night, I had 24,072 miles on the car. Your shop claims that my car had 24,031 miles on it when it was given back to me. When I drove the car to Ford today, the driving distance was 18 miles.</P>


24,072 – 18 mile drive home = 24,054</P>


24,054 – 24,031 = 23</P>


23 miles were put on my car by someone other than me. With these facts in mind, I am very unhappy with my service. Upon speaking to the Service Manager, it seems that Westway Ford is not interested in doing anything to resolve this matter. I would like to hear what you are willing to do to make me a happy customer.

I have yet to receive a reply to either the phone calls, or the above email. I have clutch damage, and about half of my new tires sticking to the side of my car. </P>


Please do not let this dealership work on your car for any reason!!!</P>

Dude that SUCKS!!! Hopefully they do the right thing and replace your clutch and tires. Somebody will probably end up fired over this thing. Try talking to the General Manager instead of the Service Manager. I'm bettin it was one of the Prepping boys.

l feel sorry for you man. That must suck.

I would raise hell until they done something about it.

Talk face to face with the general manager of the store.

Hopefully, that can resolve it. Also, keep in mind, there's always court, you can use that to your advantage.

And if that fails, there's always letterbombs. I'm sure you can find a good site with a decent "how-to" tutorial on how to make them. <IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"> </P>

Late breaking news in the Westway Ford Joyride Saga</P>


Not only did they take her for a ride, but they didn't fix the problem, and it is now much worse. Tuesday I was driving home and suddenly my CD Player starts turning itself on and off. While I am trying to figure out what is going on, I hit the SC to pass someone, and almost got thrown out the front windshield when she locked up. Barely got the Saleen home, and it is now at yet another Ford dealership to see what Westway screwed up.</P>


I am hoping this is something as simple as a pulley problem, and/or alternator since the belt is the same for them all. So far it still seems to be under warranty, so at least that part is a relief. Any suggestions would be helpful. Will keep you posted, at least I have someway to vent...</P>

Hope they get you fixed and runnin good. I would explain to the new dealership the issues at hand and maybe they can give you an area manager's phone number to call. Ford reps are sure to frown upon this kinda activity from their dealerships.

I would have taken them to court if they didn't resolve it otherwise.</P>

That's failure to perform if they didn't fix. Illegal. On top of that, they f**ked it up more.

Sue for punitive damages, an injunction to fix the vehicle to your satisfaction, as well as the price of the original service visit and the cost for the other place to see what happened to it.

If was 5-6 years in the future, I could help you out, but that's a while to wait. BTW, if you took your car to Irving, where do you live? I've only been outa couple times on the weekends due to my truck being down for 4 months, so I have no idea where people hang out and cruise in DFW.</P>
