I still don't understand how you're saying they done it right if you're gonna put a GM engine in it? It's light....

iam going with the 383 becuase it was already in the mac. shop to go in a truck im building but i found a 86 with no motor for free and since my 87 is slow and cost about 10,000 not counting the price of the car and it is disapointing but the 86 with the Blown & juiced  383 will not be slow or street legal but alot of fun for under 10,000.  not a fan of ford becuase of the dollar to HP Ratio. and becuase there cars with the excepction of the fox body are ugly SORRY  or   i could say the EXTIOR STYLING OF THE FOX IS DONE RIGHT

How can you say the mustang is the only thing ford has done right?Ford has the number one selling truck in america and the world, not to mention there turbo diesel blows away most to all of gms trucks.

ford out sells GM because of price and not for any other reason. that striaght axes front end on ford 3/4 and up is extremely cheap to lift there for it is purchased to lift. as for power GM gassers are better dont like diessels but if went that road wuold be a dodge with a cummins. no ford has any HP numbers over any GM of same GVW.  the D/MAX is the best diesel on the market will destroy a p/stroke but will not last as long as a cummins and cost 3 times as much to rebuild.

I totally agree.  The mustang is the only reason I can't say ford sucks.  When asked: Chevy or Ford?        I have to go with Chevy.    Then again I drive a Dodge right now, so maybe I shouldn't talk.

dodges are terrible and ford trucks are the only reason ford is still in buisness. thats a fact there cars are ok. the mustang is an excellent car still it will never #1 in the american muscell group thats also a proven fact mustang or viper? which is faster? yes the viper cost more but the whole thing of it is speed. Have anyone seen the new cobra concept car 600+ hp thats without turbo or super charger now if that comes out ill be mistaken and damned. ill post a link!

I cant belive what im seeing!G.M is about as cheap as you get! Those cars are built with one thing in mind and it shows!I do not like G.M vehicles i've owned a few and will always stick with FORD.And to prove my point about them being cheap look at one of the arguing statements "I DONT LIKE THE HP-DOLLAR RATIO" thats because fords are of a higher quality and therefore cost a little more to build. The MUSTANG although the most favorite car of mine is not the best vehicle built by ford take a look throughout history they've had many great cars.

Those of you saying this s**t arent worthy of the fords you do have and in my opinion deserve the G.M garbage you desire.

I think Fords are ok... I own two of them... my 02 GT and 01 Expedition... I've had minor problems with both, overall... I'm very happy with them!

i have always been a ford guy and will always be one. they sell the best trucks on the market and the mustang is the only muscle car that has made it all the way and is still alive!! wonder why?? yes, the goat is back, but it was out of the race all those years while mustangs thrived. plus mustangs have outsold all of the others for years, so much that they are gone!! MUSTANGS F*CKIN RULE!!! not to mention their trucks are F*CKIN ROCK SOLID!! Ford is the best mainstream american car company, no doubt about it!!! plus, only little boys wear bowties!!

Wow, how ignorant can you get. I'm sure that millions of teenage girls are extremely happy that the stang is still around. It seems that no one understands that the pull of the F-body is a marketing ploy, I wouldn't expect any of you to understand that though. Ford done the same with the t-bird

I would have to disagree that Mustangs are the only thing that Ford does right. I have had 4 Taurus' over the last 10+ years and all of them have been great. As a matter of fact our 96 Taurus just flipped 119/k and it still runs like new. We have had zero problems with it other than normal maintenance (brakes, etc...).

I have know people with Ford trucks that have lasted for well over 10 years with little or no problems. So, even though I do love my 'stang, I have to say it's not the only thing good to have come from Ford. (remember, it's First On Race Day)!!

ive ONLY ownd fords :) and have had no problems with any!

But i've only owned 2 cars and theyre well over 100k miles (one is i think approaching 150k the other is i think around 120k)

the 150k one i didnt even change the oil in it for i think a year and a half :)

the 120k one i just got tho in september but, well i guess it doesnt count.

and seeing as how im only 18 and have had a license for about 2 years i think this post may not count either.

:) but both my cars are stangs ones a 91 4cyl ones a 92 GT

Although the 4cyl is horribly slow, and would never buy one again unless it was just purely for winter(which this one is) then maybe id take a look see(it got beat by an 87 corrolla i think it was)

But as for the v8 :) no corrola is coming close atm Which makes me happy :)

a shame i  had to put my GT away so soon tho :( got it last sept only got to drive it for a couple months til they started salting the roads n junk. CANT WAIT TIL Spring tho!

anyhoo i vote GO GO Ford!

OK... this next rant is coming from someone who has owned more than just one of all 3 Domestic brands, and is biased only because of my own personal experiences, and also my friends and family's experiences:

Ya know, when you think about it, Ford almost ALWAYS leads the way! Let's see.... the Viper was derived from the Shelby Cobra.... Ford comes out with the 3rd gen. 5.0 and Chevy has to pull the 305 and replace it with the 350 to keep up....Ford gets into the sport compact scene with the Focus, now Dodge brings out the SRT-4.... Ford makes the Lightning and patents the "Supercooler", now Dodge puts the Viper motor in their trucks to compete (no technological marvel there!) and GM makes a very lame attempt with the SS.... GM kills the Firebird and Camaro because there is lack of sales due to NO "bang for the buck"and calls it a "marketing ploy" to cover their embarrassment, and is going to bring the GTO back (and call it a "muscle car" even though it looks like a friggin Malibu or something) with the vette motor in it (nothing special there either).... the 03 Cobra comes out and it's not even really in the same class as the Vette, but GM is definitely nervous about it, and has to squeeze more horses out of the Vette to stay faster than the stock 03, cause right now, the Cobra runs right beside it for alot less money (which the 03 only takes a few mods and stomps the Vette a new A-hole for considerably less change even after mods.... and last but not least, the Ford GT is Americas first "exotic" for the Big-3 (only after the Saleen S7 which is also a what?...Ford?) and now GM once again sais "uh oh, now we have to build something faster than that too", and now the "Supervette" is going to be built!

Does any of you GM and Dodge guys out there see the pattern???? Maybe your "loyalty" has you blinded to it! The fact that every time Ford develops a new vehicle that smokes the competition, or new technology, or delve into new territory like sport compact, GM and Dodge get scared and become like little kids lagging behind, tugging on Ford's shirt-tales saying "oh yeah, well, well, you just wait and see....we're gonna build one faster than yours.... we just wanted you to make it first so we could learn how to do it, then improve on it!" Think about it!!! ANY company can do that, it's EASY! It's been this way for what seems like forever too!

Now, you go keep believing that GM or Dodge is better, and you'll never relize the truth. Instead, try have an open mind about Ford and take a closer, deeper look into things, and maybe, just maybe you'll see the truth too!

You couldnt be more wrong about the powerstroke and the duramax. The powerstroke absolutely kills the duramax in every aspect of performance and is cheaper. I dont know what GVW stands for (maybe something to do with weight, idk) but I do know that the powerstroke has 20 hp and 40 lb-ft torque more than the duramax. And even if you wanted to bump the duramax up to 560 lb-ft torque (thats how much the powerstroke has), you wouldnt be able to until the gay Allison is upgraded from its **X**** 545 lb-ft torque. Bet you didnt think of that did ya? Cry me a river...b*tch...
