wow...Search before running your mouth and you'll see numerous LS1's breaking into the 12's on street tires from the factory. I don't know why it's so hard for everyone here to believe, Chevy small blocks make more power. Whooptee doo. What's the best you've got out of your Mach yet? I've seen it rated at 13.8. The Mach is an awesome looking Mustang though, with the breather and all. At least it is N/A unlike it's Cobra counterpart. Concept..............

i love GM, own a ford, wish i had a camaro, u people still don't get it do ya, those that say the Mach is faster then the 02 SS, so its faster by what some say uh 0.2 seconds? then some one said their is a diff of 20 hp, 02 SS with the 20hp more, but also look at the weight difference. thats where the mustang makes up the diff in hp is in its light weight DUH.so u stick the 02 SS motor in a stang or a stang in the 02 SS and make the weight even and then we see who ones who.

I love it, it looks AMAZING. Atleast I'm not the only one who is crazy and has seen LS1's rip 12's off the showroom floor with stock EVERYTHING.

[QUOTE=mach368]

95lt1......I have never seen a 02 ss camaro do 12.8 with stock tires.Please dont try and talk like you know so much cause you have been to the track,cause so have i in richmond and in north carolina.Now as for gm being the hp king please they must suck at getting it to the rear whells or there engines just dont seem to pull very well.Your 02ss camaro has 325 hp and 350tq and the mach 1 only has 305hp and 320tq yet its still faster.Even if your telling the truth about a stock 02ss with stock tires runs a 12.8 and i know for a fact that the mach1 is capable of a 12.99 on stock tires.Thats a 20hp and 30tq difference and all you can gain in the 1/4 is a 0.1,thats pretty bad.

I for the record i actually own a mach1 so when i say its capable of something than im not repeating what ive heard from others.Im not sure if you have or ever have owned a 02 ss camaro but i kinda doubt it.I also think you are full of it when you say 02 ss have run 12.8's,you didnt say wether or not the tires were stock or not.Even if it was not a drag tire on the car if they switch to any other grippier tire than what the car came with than its a mod.

By the way if gm's cars where such power kings than why couldnt they stay around?I mean surely if they are as big and as bad as you seem to think  then why didnt they sell enough to stay around.Please dont come back and say it was a sales move to pull it and then bring it back.Its been about 3 years now and there hasnt even been a concept or an official word that the camaro will be back.

STOCK & I mean, BONE STOCK LS1's are FAMOUS for reaching 12.8's. Even Z28's and Trans Am's reach 12's stock! God, all of you Ford lackies take major issues with a larger cube engine whipping itself down the 1/4 mile faster. What's the big freaking deal?

The fastest Mach 1 has hit 12.8, now - more than 1 driver has reached that goal. Mach 1's are just as fast as LS1's, they have alittle less HP (10-15hp giving variances from the factory)- but they are 150-200 lbs lighter. LS1's, fully loaded..hold your breath, scale in at 3,450 lbs with a full tank of petro. The Ford automatic still lags far behind the superior LS1 automatic transmission. One of the best electric trannies that exist...

We mentioned LS1's running 12's! We are wrong, no doubting it...don't you hate the non-believer BS? I swear I go through an arguement about LS1's every month here. I think there should be a freakin' STICKY made about LS1's running 12's...

Hell, I go through this argument all the damn time. You would think that some would believe it after a Ford man himself says it....go figure.

I think it's funny how back in 1998, the LS1 myth of running 12's had already been proven true. It is now 2004 and the LS1 motor is soon to not appear in GM cars anymore, yet people still don't know the facts and still don't know the capabilities of one.

It humors me that just because they haven't seen an LS1 break 13.5, stock - at the track they frequent, means it never happens.

The track I go to is right at sea level, the air is perfect at night and the true performance of cars shines at this track, the prep is awesome and I've seen 100% bone stock Z06's rop 12.2's, bone stock 03 Cobra's rip 12.6's (03's with radials run 12.4's) and COUNTLESS LS1's running 12.8. Of course not everyone can do this, as I've seen 03 Cobra's in the 13's and LS1's barely making it to low 14's. It's all about the driver people!!!

Thank you Dan...finally a mature, thought out (well somewhat)reply, from a GM guy, instead of the usual "well i reckon my LS1 will woop darn near everyth'n else on dem der highways, cuz dem's da coolest, fastest, thing on 4 tires in da wurld, ummmhmmmm". You are to be commended!

Wow! wasn't aware of GM selling to the Japs. It just makes me sick when i think about all of the people that died at Pearl Harbor, and now that whole deal seems like it was all in vain. I'm not saying we should hate the Japs, but now we're allowing the same people to take control of our economy basically! I'm not saying i know how to do things better, but it's just sad in my eyes. God i hope Ford can stay true to the Americans, and not sell out to a foriegn power, only time will tell i guess. I know Ford has partnership with Mazda, but at least owns the other companies. At least for now i can say i'm proud to be American...and all three of my rides are Fords...  American cars!

I can't find anything saying that GM has sold out to Japan? Can you post a link? I found where GM is selling tons of cars in Japan and is dominating the economy cars over there. Wonder what they call American cars over there? Just like you can't get upset at a foreign person for driving a "pimped" out acura, it's domestic to them. I think you're getting confused about them "selling" out. GM, like Ford, owns tons of other companies and they still produce under the subsiderary name. 95LT138023.8040509259
