03SVT, No disrespect intended, I agree different cars can pull differently based on hp, torque and gearing. But I did go to Mustangworks.com, plugged in your 1/8 numbers and it came back showing that you should run a very respectable 13.57 @107 mph. Pretty good, actually.

Well you can believe the computer if you want. Why not get out there like I do and witness the stuff for yourself? Trust me, that is NOT accurate. That plug-in action can't be accurate, because I know what my car will run. I really don't feel like explaining something to someone who isn't going to listen anyways (no offense) so I'll just close by saying believe what you want, but I know what my car will do, so that's all I care about. A Z06 is capable of mid 12's, and that run was the absolute best run I've ever made. What does that tell you? Have a nice day!

Bench racing's great ain't it? Easy to plug in numbers and GUESS what you'd run. I tried all of that before I ran at the track and all of it was way off. Most calculators account for perfect power transfer and traction. The track timers don't lie. I slip my tires the tiniest bit at the line and it's costs me 3/4 tenths. Try plugging that into your calculator. I don't even listen to people anymore when they estimate what their car will run. Unless they give 60',1/8 mile and 1/4 ET with MPH it's all just junk.

well i dont really wanna be in the but a mustang i had 3 years ago i was running 8.70's in the 1/8 mile and 13.40's in the 1/4 mile. but that just my own experiance. i was running 4.10 gears and slicks. but the car i have now i ran this weekend for the first time. 1.915 60 foot 5.680 330 ft 8.841 @ 78.47mph 1/8 mile 11.531 1000 ft 13.824 @ 98.26mph 1/4 mile i have a 89 mustang gt 95,000 miles with Holley Sysytemax upper and lower intake, Accufab 70mm TB, 76mm C&L mass air, BBK cold air intake, 24 lbs injectors, adjustable fuel regulator, pulleys, Aluminum Driveshaft , 3.73 gears and 26x 10.5 M/T ET Streets. and i learned somehing at the track sunday, a taller tire slows ur car down. my first pass was on my radial tires 24.5 inches tall it ran 13.83 @ 101.14 the car spun maybe 4-5 ft before it hooked up. I put on my et streets that are 26 inches tall, i ran 13.82 at 98.26 mph and no tire spin at all. so im almost willing to bet anything if i have a slick thats 24.5-25 inches tall my car will go 13.50's. kinda wierd huh?

All right! Fordgasm has got it. Amazing what you learn at the track huh? Your mph dilemna is very similiar to the problem I encountered. I needed a taller tire to bring the RPM down when I crossed the line. I was over revving the engine losing ET. If I were you I would get a good idea of your engine RPM while crossing the 1/4 mile line. You want that RPM to be just above your HP peak. With your set up I would guess around 5200/5400. Size your tires or gear ratio to match that. The problem you will find is as you add HP you will need more gear or tire to go with it. Bolt on a blower or nitrous to your set up and you'll likely be bouncing off the limiter before crossing the 1/4th mile.

well isnt this great the tire i have is 25.9 inches tall the shortest street tire i can buy unless i go to a 22 inch and thats not gonna work. my only other choice is a drag radial like a Nitto or a BF Goodrich. and i dont think my car will hook up on either on of those. so it looks like im reduded to running slow and hooking up on te starting line.

Wound up running a 16.221 tonight.
God damned clutch was slipping like a mofo in second and third.....can't wait to get it replaced with a beefeir unit.
Polyurethane motor mounts, an exhaust, some ehad work....I should be in the high-mid 15's, all for under $800

i think i figured out my problem, going threw the traps at 5000 with my radials and 4500 with my et streets, 3:73 gears isnt enough. so i guess ima go ahead and order the 4 :10's Anyone want a brand new set of 3: 73's no more than 500 miles on them. asking $125 plus shipping. Anyone running the Airflow Research Heads? How are they?
