*UPDATE* I killed him and his IROC! At first we went from a roll (40mph) and I walked away from him with out a problem at the end of 3rd gear I was about 5-6 cars in front of him. Then we did one from a dig in first gear we were about even, then when I shifted into second I pulled away from him, and that was the end of that.*UPDATE*
There is this guy I work with that has a IROC with a 350 with exhaust, and MSD.
He said he has beaten a Z06.But I don't think so. We are going to race on saterday just for fun. How bad do you guys think I will lose? My car is stock save for the intake and exhaust. We both have 5speeds.

I really dont think you will lose, unless you mess up shifting. 350's are nice, but you gotta have other stuff to go with it. My friend had an 89 Trans Am, with a 350 in it, and he barely beat this stock fox body that he raced. So aslong as you can drive, you'll win.
It only has a 350 if he or someone else put it in there. You couldnt get the 350 with the 5 speed or T top's in the 3rd gen. Either way, just an ex and distributor, he might be lucky to get a mid 14 from it. an 02 GT should stomp a mudhole in his butt. If it has more than that done to it, then you just never know how it will run untill you line up with it.
Most 3rd gens are slow, like honda slow. Not all of them are, but most are. With older cars you have to look listen and feel to figure them out. It usually takes more than just bolt ons to get them into the 13's.

Yeah, if he's done a tranny swap or motor swap (no 350 + manual from the factory) then who knows what else is done to it?

Yeah. That's what I was going to say. The 350 IROCS only came with the 4 speed auto and they were not all that fast. I used to beat the stock 5.7 with my geared & exhaust 5 speed 5.0
Don't underestimate this fella...I've never heard of a 350 Z28/IROC with a 5-speed. This guy must have some kind of sleeper...Check out this article stock one with automatic's run 14.4's so with that five speed he would put up a good battle with ya....Good luck.....Better get those gears...lol
I don't know where everyone gets the idea that 350TPI's were turds. 350TPI with the G-92 rear will easily run mid 14's, some even ran low 14's, headers + exhaust and they are hitting 13's.
But, if he never had a motor swap, he has a 305...the 5.7 never came with a 5 speed.
Stock for stock, you have more power and you should be able to run a quicker time than him if you are equal drivers.
