what is that thingy that holds the trunk up called? ive tried every variation of "prop rod" i can think of....... im fed up with my trunk hitting me in the back of my head every time i need to dig in there. please tell me what its called and where i can get one if you know. thx

Well theres actually two rods that flex to hold it up.


But why not get those props they use on hatchbacks and custom fit them to yours.I have a new set out in the garage ive yet to put on mine.

they are called trunk support cylinders any auto parts store has them, in any size that you need for a fairly cheap price

Im just using the ones from advanced auto.I have them for the trunk and the hood.I like not have the hood prop in my way when under the hood.

They have so many names it's ridiculous. Spend alittle more money for the good ones rather than the cheapy ones, after you open it 20 times your trunk will be hitting you in the head again for not buying the good ones.

i have steady lifts on mine, they cost me 20 bucks a piece and they have been holding my trunk lid up fine for 4 years
