What kind of gas mileage are you seeing in 05/06 V6. Our 04 is getting 18 MPG and wont get out of its own damn way. slow ass POS. Might be because im use to my Mach, but damn this bitch is slow. A Kia will prob beat it. I test drove 05 and they are ALOT stronger. Now question is gas mileage. Let me know guys and girls.

I have yet to drive conservatively in my 06 V6 but here is what I am getting...

19 MPG (US)
23 MPG (Imperial)
8 KM/L

I just installed my MMR CAI with high flow tube, so we will see if there is any change. I onlky have a little time left before the snow comes.
I have to say when I drove my friends 02 V6 after driving mine...I got that same feel you are talking about, I kept looking in the side mirror to see if a city bus coming to pass me.

I get about 19 average, with about 50/50 highway/city driving, and I live around a lot of construction so my 19 mile commute takes 45 minutes. If I do just highway driving and dont try to drive over everyone, I get close to 25.

It might be just me, but on long highway trips, like San Antonio to Biloxi, I averaged in the 29 to 30 mpg range. I drive to work, which is combined city and highway, and I usually end up getting like 24 mpg. It is all in how you drive. I don't need to take off like a madman from every light, b/c it just plain wastes gas, espcially when you get to the next light and the idiot who took of has been sitting there for like 3 minutes while you have caught up and then the light changes as soon as you get there. The taller gears in a V6 should help you on the highway anyway. I regularly drive like 85-90 and I don't have to gun it all the time. Plus if anyone has noticed, thes cars will coast at like 80 for like 3 minutes, before requiring throttle to maintain speed. It's not about how fast you drive, it's about how much speed you can maintain.

19 local and 25 long interstate driving. I have driven many lengthy trips with constant 65-75mph driving CAI and XCAL tune, no way I can squeeze more than 26mpg out.

i get upper teens around town... i think you can get whatever you want around town, from single digits to mid 20s.
on the highway, as long as you're just driving and not constantly shifting around/passing/goosing it just to hear the motor i get 28-29. have yet to average 30 on a freeway trip, but it will surely get better.
cheers

I was disappointed at first in the fuel mileage of my 2005 V6 auto convertible. On my 1998 V6-auto ragtop, I got 18-19mpg city and 27+ highway (top up). The Oh Five was only giving me 15mpg city (no highway yet). However, once I got the oil changed, I noticed a gain of 1.5mpg, to almost 17mpg now. I spend some time in traffic (carpool lane at my son's school), and my right foot is heavier than my left (I checked it on the bathroom scale too!).

The sheer enjoyment factor with the new body style exponentially outweighs any loss suffered in fuel mileage! Vrooooom!!!

before i changed my stock rims to gt rims i was getting 390 miles per full tank w/ 93 from shell...

after the GT rims i am now getting like 290.... im very upset about that, lol... My tires are properly inflated also... I dunno what happened and I cant believe that much of a change in mileage

well pretty much because my car still has less than 650 miles on it depends on what i do that week

if i only take it out around the city it is pretty good, i get about 17mpg, but when i start doing trafficy driving it has droped all the way to 4mpg

Around town it varies quite a bit, but last time my trip computer said I was getting about 21. On the highway, if I set the cruise control on 65, I get 28.1, if I set it at 79, I get 25.4.

Was averaging about 24 over the first 500 miles. The new 255/45 tires knocked that down to 23.

Hi!

I just finished a trip from Dayton Ohio to Philidelphia and back along with some driving around while there for a total of 1500 miles yesterday. My 05 mustang has 8000 miles on it and I am happy to be getting a solid 28MPG at higway speed. I was driving like everyone else on the Peny trunpike at 80 MPH and sometimes more. I even got 30MPG traveling eastbound with a strong tailwind while driving fast. This was information comming from the calculator in the car. I have manually calculated the milage a couple of times and found the figures agree mostly. I am happy!
